Pray for this and ### will rest in peace

Faithful Servant
Summary (due to privacy): A child was subjected to physical and psychological abuse by family members, leading to her death. The abuse was not detected for over 300 days despite initial signs. The mother and her boyfriend attempted to cover up the death by disposing of the body. Legal proceedings resulted in convictions for child abuse, manslaughter, and other charges. The case revealed significant failings in child protection systems, prompting recommendations for improved training and protocols. This incident has had a profound impact on public awareness and policy in Singapore.

Our hearts break and our spirits mourn for this precious child who suffered unimaginable cruelty at the hands of those who should have protected her. The depths of this evil are staggering—abuse so prolonged, deception so calculated, and a system so broken that it failed to intervene. Yet we know that nothing is hidden from the eyes of the Lord, and He has seen every tear, heard every cry, and recorded every act of injustice. The blood of the innocent cries out from the ground, and God Himself will demand an account.

The Scripture declares in **Proverbs 6:16-19 (WEB):**
*"There are six things which Yahweh hates; yes, seven which are an abomination to him: arrogant eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are swift in running to mischief, a false witness who uttereth lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren."*
This child’s blood was shed in innocence, and those responsible—whether by action or neglect—will stand before a holy and righteous Judge. The mother and her boyfriend, who not only abused but then sought to conceal their crime, have reaped the consequences of their wickedness in this life, and unless they repent, they will face eternal judgment. We do not rejoice in their suffering, but we acknowledge that justice has been served in part, and we pray that even now, the Holy Spirit would convict them of their sin, leading them to true repentance and faith in Christ. For apart from Him, there is no hope—only the terrifying expectation of judgment and the fury of a fire that will consume the adversaries of God (**Hebrews 10:27**).

Yet our grief is not without hope, for this child is now in the presence of the Lord. Though her life was cut short by evil hands, her soul is at peace with Jesus, who said, *"Suffer the little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven"* (**Matthew 19:14**). She is no longer in pain, no longer afraid, but resting in the arms of the Savior who loves her perfectly. We take comfort in knowing that God’s justice is perfect, and He will wipe away every tear from her eyes (**Revelation 21:4**).

As for the failures of the child protection systems, we cry out to the Lord for reform and repentance. The Scripture warns in **James 4:17 (WEB):** *"To him therefore who knows to do good, and doesn’t do it, to him it is sin."* Those in authority who turned a blind eye, who failed to act, or who were negligent in their duty bear a heavy responsibility. We pray that God would expose every corruption, every incompetence, and every complacency in these systems. Let this tragedy be a wake-up call to those in power, that they may act with urgency, wisdom, and integrity to protect the vulnerable. We ask the Lord to raise up godly leaders, advocates, and workers who will fear Him above man and who will not rest until justice and protection are secured for every child.

To the broader community in ### and beyond, we pray that this case would not be forgotten but would spark a movement of vigilance, compassion, and action. The church must be at the forefront of this battle—speaking for those who cannot speak, defending the fatherless, and pleading the cause of the widow (**Proverbs 31:8-9**). Let believers rise up to support foster care, adoption, and ministries that care for abused and neglected children. Let us be the hands and feet of Christ to the brokenhearted and the oppressed.

Finally, we lift up the families and individuals who are grieving this loss—the relatives, the friends, the social workers who may carry guilt or trauma from this tragedy. Lord, comfort them with Your presence. Heal their wounds. Give them strength to forgive, not because the offenders deserve it, but because You have forgiven us so much. May this pain drive them to You, the God of all comfort (**2 Corinthians 1:3-4**), who alone can turn mourning into dancing and ashes into beauty.

**Our Prayer:**
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious child who suffered so greatly at the hands of evil. Lord, we thank You that she is now safe with You, free from pain and fear, resting in Your love. We ask that You would bring full justice—both in this life and the next—for every act of cruelty committed against her. Convict the hearts of her abusers; let them see the depth of their sin and turn to You in true repentance before it is too late. Expose and root out every failure in the systems meant to protect children. Raise up godly leaders who will act with wisdom, courage, and integrity to prevent such tragedies. Stir Your church to action, Lord—let us not be silent in the face of injustice, but let us be Your voice and Your hands to the vulnerable.

Comfort those who mourn this loss. Heal the brokenhearted. Give strength to those who feel guilty or responsible, and lead them to Your grace. Use this tragedy to awaken Your people to the urgency of protecting children, defending the fatherless, and standing against evil in every form.

We pray all this in the mighty and holy name of **Jesus Christ**, our Redeemer and our Judge, who will one day set all things right. Amen.

Our hearts ache for this innocent child, taken from this world too soon by the cruel hands of those who should have loved and protected her. We weep with those who mourn, and we cry out to God for justice. Lord, we ask that You would bring comfort to the brokenhearted, healing to the wounded, and strength to the weary. We pray for the abusers, that they would see the gravity of their sin and turn to You in repentance. We also lift up the child protection systems, praying for reform and for God to raise up godly leaders to protect the vulnerable. And finally, we ask that this tragedy would stir the church to action, that we would be Your voice and hands to the oppressed. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
