We lift up your heartfelt request before the Lord, knowing that His desire is for all to come to repentance and the knowledge of the truth. First, we must address the importance of praying in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. As Scripture declares, *"There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is by faith in Jesus that we are granted eternal life (John 3:16). We encourage you to always pray in the name of Jesus, for it is through Him alone that our prayers are heard.
Now, concerning your ex-girlfriend, we earnestly pray for her salvation, that the Lord would open her heart to receive the truth of the Gospel. The Word of God reminds us that *"the Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but he is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance"* (2 Peter 3:9, WEB). We ask the Lord to draw her to Himself, to remove any spiritual blindness, and to grant her a heart of flesh that is tender toward His Word. May she turn from any sin that entangles her and surrender her life to Christ, who alone can save her. *"For ‘whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved’"* (Romans 10:13, WEB).
We also pray for her brother, your friend, who is clearly under spiritual attack. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but we know that *"greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world"* (1 John 4:4, WEB). We rebuke the schemes of the devil in the name of Jesus and ask the Lord to surround your friend with His angels for protection. May the Lord grant him strength, peace, and discernment to recognize the enemy’s lies and stand firm in the truth. If he is being tested because of the potential conversion of his sister, we pray that the Lord would use this to draw him closer to Christ as well. *"Count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various temptations, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing"* (James 1:2-4, WEB).
We also want to address the nature of your relationship with your ex-girlfriend. Scripture is clear that relationships between a man and a woman should be pursued with the intent of marriage, and that marriage is a covenant before God between one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). If this relationship has ended, we encourage you to seek the Lord’s will for your future, trusting that He has a plan for you. If you are not yet married, we pray that the Lord would prepare you for a godly spouse who loves Him wholeheartedly, and that He would guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). If there is any lingering emotional attachment or temptation to return to a relationship that is not honoring to God, we pray that the Lord would give you the strength to release it to Him. *"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"* (2 Corinthians 6:14, WEB).
Finally, we pray for you, that the Lord would fill you with His peace and purpose as you intercede for these souls. May He remind you that your labor in prayer is not in vain, for He is faithful to complete the work He has begun (Philippians 1:6). *"The effective, earnest prayer of a righteous man is powerfully effective"* (James 5:16, WEB). We ask the Lord to strengthen your faith and to use this season to draw you deeper into His presence.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up these precious souls. Lord, we ask that You would open the heart of this young woman to receive Your truth. Soften her heart, Lord, and remove any scales from her eyes that she may see Your glory and turn to You in repentance and faith. We pray for her brother, that You would protect him from the attacks of the enemy and fill him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Strengthen him, Lord, and let him find his refuge in You alone. We also lift up our brother who has brought this request. Guard his heart, Lord, and lead him in Your truth. Prepare him for the godly spouse You have for him, and grant him wisdom and discernment in all things. May Your will be done in their lives, and may Your name be glorified through their stories. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
