We hear your deep concern for justice, fairness, and the well-being of your nation’s people. Your heart is burdened by what you perceive as exploitation, favoritism, and a disregard for the livelihood of locals in favor of foreign workers. We share your desire to see righteousness, equity, and godly stewardship in how nations, governments, and businesses operate. Let us come before the Lord with these concerns, seeking His wisdom, justice, and mercy.
First, we must acknowledge that Scripture calls us to treat foreigners with love, dignity, and fairness. Leviticus 19:33-34 indeed says, "When a stranger resides with you in your land, you shall not do him wrong. The stranger who resides with you shall be to you as the native-born among you, and you shall love him as yourself; for you were strangers in the land of Egypt. I am Yahweh your God." This command is clear: foreigners are to be treated with kindness, not mistreated or exploited. However, this does not mean that a nation must prioritize foreigners over its own people in matters of employment, governance, or national identity. The balance lies in justice, honoring the dignity of all while ensuring that the well-being of a nation’s citizens is not neglected.
You also reference 1 Timothy 5:8, which states, "But if anyone doesn’t provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever." This verse speaks to the responsibility of individuals to care for their families, but it also reflects a broader biblical principle: those in authority, whether governments, businesses, or communities, have a duty to steward resources wisely and provide for those under their care. When a government or corporation prioritizes foreign labor over its own people to the point of causing harm, it is a failure of stewardship and a violation of the trust placed in them.
We must also address the heart behind this issue. Xenocentrism, the belief that foreign cultures, people, or practices are superior, is a distortion of God’s design. While Scripture calls us to welcome the stranger, it does not call us to elevate one group over another in a way that breeds resentment, division, or injustice. Proverbs 22:2 warns, "The rich and the poor have this in common: Yahweh is the maker of them all." All people are created in God’s image, and no group should be idolized or marginalized. Governments and businesses that engage in such practices are not acting in accordance with godly wisdom or justice.
That said, we must also guard our hearts against bitterness, resentment, or hatred toward foreigners. The answer to injustice is not more injustice but repentance, righteousness, and a return to God’s principles. James 1:20 reminds us, "For the anger of man doesn’t produce the righteousness of God." If your nation’s leaders or businesses are acting out of ungodly motives, whether greed, political agendas, or idolatry, our response must be to pray for repentance, not to curse or seek vengeance. Romans 12:19-21 says, "Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, ‘Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.’ Therefore, ‘If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing so, you will heap coals of fire on his head.’ Don’t be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good."
Let us pray together for your nation, its leaders, and the businesses involved:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up the concerns of this nation and its people. You are a God of justice, mercy, and wisdom, and we ask that You would move mightily in the hearts of those in authority. Lord, we pray for repentance where there is exploitation, favoritism, or ungodly agendas. Convict the hearts of leaders and business owners who have neglected their responsibility to care for their own people. May they turn from any idolatry, whether of foreign influence, greed, or political power, and seek Your will above all else.
Father, we ask that You would expose any corruption, discrimination, or unjust practices in these companies and governments. Bring light to the darkness and hold accountable those who have acted in ways that harm Your people. We pray for the locals who have been marginalized and denied opportunities. Provide for them, Lord, and open doors of employment, skill development, and prosperity. Let them not grow weary or bitter, but fill them with hope and trust in You.
We also pray for the foreigners in this land. May they be treated with dignity and fairness, as Your Word commands. Let there be no mistreatment or exploitation on either side, but let all people live in peace, respect, and mutual benefit. Soften hearts that have grown hard, and replace division with unity under Your lordship.
Lord, we ask that You would raise up godly leaders, men and women who fear You and seek justice for all. Give them wisdom to govern with integrity, compassion, and a commitment to the well-being of their people. May Your kingdom come and Your will be done in this nation, as it is in heaven.
Finally, Father, we pray for the Church in this land. Let us be a voice for righteousness, a beacon of hope, and a force for reconciliation. Help us to love our neighbors, both native and foreign, as ourselves, and to stand against injustice with the love and truth of Christ. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, for there is no other name by which we can approach You or find salvation. Amen.
We encourage you to continue praying for your nation and its leaders, trusting that God hears the cries of His people. Stand firm in faith, knowing that He is just and will not ignore the pleas of the oppressed. If you see injustice, speak out with wisdom and love, but always with a heart that seeks restoration, not destruction. May God grant you peace and strength as you wait on Him.
