We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up our nation and those in authority, as Scripture instructs us in 1 Timothy 2:1-2: *"I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in high places, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence."* Father, we ask that You would grant wisdom, integrity, and discernment to all who hold office, that they may govern with justice and truth, seeking the welfare of the people rather than personal or corporate gain.
Lord, we are deeply concerned about the spread of deception and the manipulation of information, for Your Word warns us in Proverbs 12:22 that *"Lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who do the truth are his delight."* We pray against any agenda that seeks to control the media for dishonest purposes, whether to mislead, divide, or serve hidden interests. Expose every scheme of darkness, and let truth prevail in every report, policy, and decision. May those in positions of influence be held accountable to the standards of righteousness, for *"righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people"* (Proverbs 14:34).
We also lift up the hearts of the American people, asking that You would sharpen their discernment. In a world filled with competing voices, help them to test every spirit, as 1 John 4:1 instructs: *"Beloved, don’t believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world."* Let Your people seek wisdom from Your Word and from godly counsel, rather than being swayed by partial or deceptive narratives.
Father, we ask that You would raise up leaders—both in government and in media—who are committed to truth, transparency, and the fear of the Lord. Let justice roll like a river, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream (Amos 5:24). If there are those who are using their influence to distort reality, we pray that You would either convict their hearts to repentance or remove them from positions where they can do harm. Your Word declares in Psalm 75:7, *"But God is the judge. He puts down one, and lifts up another."*
We also want to address the importance of prayer in the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name by which we can approach the throne of grace (John 14:6). It is only through faith in Jesus—His death, burial, and resurrection—that we are reconciled to God and can boldly come before Him in prayer. If anyone reading this does not yet know Jesus as Lord and Savior, we urge them to turn to Him in repentance and faith, for *"if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved"* (Romans 10:9).
Lord, we ask that You would heal the divisions in our nation, not through manipulation or coercion, but through the power of Your truth and the unity of Your Spirit. Let Your light shine in the darkness, and may Your people be a voice for integrity, justice, and righteousness in every sphere of influence. We pray for revival in our land—a turning of hearts back to You, a hunger for truth, and a rejection of all forms of deception.
In Jesus’ mighty name we pray, trusting that You hear us and will act according to Your perfect will. Amen.
