We come before the Lord with hearts seeking His will in this matter, remembering that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. The request to pray for humility in Ms. ### is one we take seriously, for God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.
The Bible teaches us in 1 Peter 5:5-6, *"Likewise, you younger ones, be subject to the elder. Yes, all of you clothe yourselves with humility, to subject yourselves to one another; for 'God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.' Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time."* We also recall Proverbs 16:18, *"Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall."* It is not our place to seek vengeance or personal justice, but to pray that God would work in her heart, convicting her of any pride, selfishness, or unkindness, and leading her to repentance.
However, we must also examine our own hearts in this situation. Are we praying out of frustration, anger, or a desire for retaliation? Or are we genuinely seeking God’s will for her life and our own response to her actions? Jesus commands us in Matthew 5:44, *"But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you."* Let us ensure our motives are pure and aligned with Christ’s teachings.
We also encourage you to consider how you might respond to her actions in a way that honors God. Romans 12:17-21 reminds us, *"Repay no one evil for evil. Respect what is honorable in the sight of all men. If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.' Therefore 'If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing so, you will heap coals of fire on his head.' Don’t be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good."*
Let us pray together for Ms. ###, for her heart, and for your response to this situation:
Heavenly Father, we lift up Ms. ### to You, asking that You would work mightily in her heart. Lord, if there is pride, selfishness, or any ungodly attitude within her, we pray that You would convict her by the power of the Holy Spirit. Humble her, Lord, not for our sake, but for her own good and for Your glory. Help her to see the impact of her actions and lead her to repentance. May she experience Your grace and mercy in a way that transforms her heart and her behavior.
We also pray for our brother or sister who has brought this request before us. Guard their heart against bitterness, anger, or any ungodly response. Fill them with Your love and wisdom so that they may respond to Ms. ### in a way that honors You. Help them to extend grace, even as they seek Your justice. Give them patience and discernment in how to handle this situation, whether it is through kind words, forgiveness, or seeking resolution in a godly manner.
Lord, we ask that You would intervene in this situation. If it is Your will, we pray that the hiding of keys or equipment would cease, not just for convenience, but as a sign of a heart changed by You. Let Your peace reign in this workplace, and let Your name be glorified through how this is resolved.
Finally, Father, we thank You for the power of the name of Jesus, the name above all names, by which we have access to Your throne. It is in His name we pray, knowing that all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Him. May Your will be done in this situation, and may both Ms. ### and our brother or sister grow closer to You through it.
In Jesus’ precious and mighty name, we pray. Amen.
