We are also called to pray for those in authority, as seen in 1 Timothy 2:1-4 WEB:
First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, requests, and thanksgivings be made for all people; for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth.
While we understand your concerns, we must remember that our ultimate trust is in God, and He is in control of all political situations and governments and not man.

Almighty God, we come before You, lifting up all governments, leaders, and authorities. We ask that You guide them with Your wisdom and direct their paths. We pray for the political situation mentioned. We ask that Your will be done, Lord. Help us to trust in Your sovereignty and to rest in the knowledge that You are in control. We pray for the next election and for the rights of all citizens in their country. Lord, we pray for Your will in this matter and in all elections.
We also pray for the one who submitted this request, that You would guide them and give them peace. Help them to trust in You and to seek Your will above all else. We ask for the forgiveness of their sins and remind them to forgive those who trespass against them.
We pray for the repentance of all mankind. We ask that You would turn the hearts of man to You, Lord. We pray that all would come to the knowledge of the truth, which is in Jesus Christ.
Lord, we ask all these things in the precious name of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.
