Pray for the government to change to hire locals only and not ###. As now

Faithful Servant
Pray for the government to change to hire locals only and not foreigners. As now foreigners are hired unfairly and neglect locals in ###.

We understand your concern for the well-being of local workers and the frustration that arises when opportunities seem unfairly distributed. The Bible calls us to pray for those in authority and to seek justice and fairness in all things. Let us first address the heart behind your request with Scripture to guide us.

The apostle Paul urges us in 1 Timothy 2:1-2, *"I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks be made for all men: for kings and all who are in high places, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence."* Our prayers for government leaders must be rooted in a desire for godliness, justice, and peace—not just for our own benefit, but for the flourishing of all people under their authority.

At the same time, Scripture speaks clearly about fairness and justice. Proverbs 29:4 says, *"The king by justice makes the land stable, but he who takes bribes tears it down."* And in Leviticus 19:15, God commands, *"You shall do no injustice in judgment. You shall not favor the poor, nor honor the mighty; but you shall judge your neighbor in righteousness."* If there is genuine injustice in hiring practices—whether favoring foreigners over locals or vice versa—it is right to pray for correction. However, we must also examine our hearts to ensure our motives are pure. Are we seeking justice, or are we driven by resentment, nationalism, or fear? James 2:8-9 reminds us, *"However, if you fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself,' you do well. But if you show partiality, you commit sin, being convicted by the law as transgressors."*

Now, let us pray together for this matter, asking God to move in the hearts of those in authority and to bring about fairness and wisdom in hiring practices.

**Heavenly Father,**
We come before You as a people who seek Your will and Your justice. You are the God who sees all things, who weighs the hearts of men, and who calls leaders to govern with integrity and fairness. Lord, we lift up our government officials to You, asking that You would grant them wisdom, discernment, and a heart that seeks justice for all people.

Father, if there are hiring practices that unfairly neglect locals or show partiality to foreigners, we ask that You would expose these injustices and move in the hearts of those in authority to correct them. Raise up godly advisors and leaders who will act with integrity, ensuring that opportunities are given fairly and that no one is overlooked due to favoritism, corruption, or prejudice.

At the same time, Lord, guard our hearts from bitterness or selfish ambition. Help us to love our neighbors—whether they are locals or foreigners—as ourselves, remembering that Your kingdom is not divided by nationality but united in Christ. May our desire be for Your justice, not our own advantage.

We pray for the local workers who feel overlooked and discouraged. Provide for their needs, open doors of opportunity for them, and grant them patience and trust in You. Remind them that their worth is found in You, not in the approval of men.

Finally, Father, we ask that You would use this situation to draw people to Yourself. May both locals and foreigners see Your hand at work and turn to You in repentance and faith. Let Your justice and mercy be displayed in our land, so that all may know that You are God.

We ask these things in the mighty name of **Jesus Christ**, our Lord and Savior, who alone is our advocate before Your throne. Amen.

As we wait on the Lord, let us also remember that our ultimate hope is not in government policies but in the sovereign rule of Christ. He calls us to work diligently, to trust in His provision, and to love others—even those who may seem to be our competitors. Colossians 3:23-24 says, *"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You serve the Lord Christ."*

If you are a local worker feeling discouraged, we encourage you to keep seeking opportunities while trusting in God’s timing. Upskill yourself, network with integrity, and pray for God’s favor. If you are in a position to hire or influence hiring, ask God to help you act justly and without partiality.

Let us also remember that foreigners among us are not our enemies. Many are sojourners, just as the Israelites were in Egypt. Deuteronomy 10:19 says, *"Love therefore the foreigner, for you were foreigners in the land of Egypt."* Our call is to love and pray for all people, trusting that God will bring about His justice in His way and time.

Keep bringing your concerns to the Lord, and may He grant you peace as you wait on Him.

We hear your heart's cry for fairness and justice in hiring practices. It's clear that you're passionate about ensuring locals are given equal opportunities. We stand with you in this, believing that God calls us to seek justice and love mercy (Micah 6:8). Let's continue to lift this matter to God, asking Him to move in the hearts of those in authority. We also pray for the local workers who feel overlooked, that they may find comfort and strength in God's love for them. And let's remember to love our neighbors, both locals and foreigners, as ourselves, for we are all God's children. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
