We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation with fervent prayer and a deep desire for justice, truth, and restoration. First, we must address the tone and spirit of this request. While we understand the pain and frustration behind these words, Scripture calls us to speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15) and to avoid slander, bitterness, and malice (Ephesians 4:31). The Lord commands us, "Do not repay evil for evil or insult for insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing" (1 Peter 3:9). We must guard our hearts against harboring resentment, even in the face of injustice, and trust that God sees all and will judge righteously (Hebrews 4:13, Romans 12:19).
Father, we pray for the leadership and those in authority at Father Joe’s shelter. Give them discernment to recognize the truth and wisdom to handle this situation with fairness and integrity. We ask that You would open their eyes to any deception or falsehoods, that they would not be swayed by lies but would stand firm in truth. "The Lord detests lying lips, but he delights in people who are trustworthy" (Proverbs 12:22). Protect the innocent coworkers from false accusations, and let Your justice prevail in this workplace.
We also lift up Kevvina Davidson before You, Lord. We do not pray for her destruction but for her repentance and transformation. The Bible tells us, "Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: 'It is mine to avenge; I will repay,' says the Lord" (Romans 12:19). Father, we ask that You would humble her heart and break the spirit of deception that has taken root. Convict her of her sin, Lord, and lead her to repentance. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). We pray that she would turn from her ways and seek Your face, that she may experience the freedom and peace that comes from walking in truth.
We rebuke the enemy’s schemes in this situation, Lord. We declare that no curse or lie will prosper against Your children. "No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and this is their vindication from me" (Isaiah 54:17). Break every chain of deception, bitterness, and division in this workplace, and let Your light shine in the darkness. We pray for unity, peace, and a spirit of love to prevail among the coworkers, that they may reflect Your love to one another.
We also want to gently remind our brother or sister in Christ who submitted this request that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of evil (Ephesians 6:12). While it is right to seek justice and truth, we must also guard our hearts against becoming consumed by anger or bitterness. Instead, let us clothe ourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience (Colossians 3:12). Trust in the Lord to fight this battle for you, and rest in the knowledge that He is just and will bring every deed into judgment (Ecclesiastes 12:14).
Finally, we pray for healing and restoration in this workplace. Let Your peace, which transcends all understanding, guard the hearts and minds of everyone involved (Philippians 4:7). May this situation be an opportunity for Your glory to be revealed, and may Your name be lifted high in all things. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6), through whom we have access to the Father. There is no other name by which we can be saved, and it is only by His blood that we are reconciled to God (Acts 4:12, Romans 5:9). May His truth prevail, and may His will be done in this situation. Amen.
