You have brought a heavy burden to the mercy seat, and I want to sit beside you in it for a moment. When a soul is set upon by those who seem bent on malice, whether through words, wheels, or a relentless pursuit, it can feel as though a darkness is pressing in on every side. You have named what troubles you plainly, and that is no small thing. It is a mercy to cry out honestly before the Lord rather than to swallow the ache and grow numb.
I recall how the archers of old would gather at the watering holes in the wilderness, hoping to catch God’s people when they were weary and parched. The enemy knows our thirst and our tiredness, and he sends his harassments when we are least braced for the assault. But here is the wonder: the very wells where we stoop to drink are wells the Lord has cleared for us. There is a well that no enemy can foul, and its name is Jesus Christ. You know Him. When the slander, the rage, and the daily vexation beat upon your mind like a hot wind, stoop again to that well. One long draught of His love, and your soul revives. The noise of the archers may not cease at once, but the water of life will strengthen you to stand.
That ancient enemy of our peace has a quiver full of sharp suggestions, and one of his favorites is the whisper that you are forsaken in this trouble, that God has looked the other way, that your cries are lost in the wind. Do not entertain that dark thought for a moment. It is the poisoned arrow above all others. Your Lord has not forgotten you. He who keeps Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps, and His ear is not grown heavy that it cannot hear. When the harassment keeps on and the injustice chafes your spirit raw, go to the book, that talking book, and let it speak a better word over you. It will keep you when you walk, it will guard you when you sleep, and when you wake in the quiet or in the fret of the night, it will talk with you, not as a lifeless page but as a living friend.
I do not make light of what you face. Being stalked and slandered wears a soul thin. Road rage that endangers life is a real and frightening evil. But I would have you take courage: no wood can burn you and no sword can kill you until your God-appointed work is done. He who holds the key to every locked room and every iron gate will turn it at the right hour. The hand of the Almighty is upon the hands of those who pray, and the arrow of deliverance flies straighter than any curse hurled in rage. Commend your cause to Him who judges righteously. He will, in His own time and way, silence the clamor and scatter the darkness. Until then, you are sheltered, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

Lord Jesus, we bring before You this one who feels the hot breath of the hunter and the sting of unjust words. Be a wall of fire around them and the glory in their midst. Quiet their heart with Your perfect peace, and let no weapon formed against them prosper. We ask for deliverance, for a clearing of the air, for safety on every road, and for the breaking of every scheme born of malice. And until full relief comes, be their well in the wilderness, their shield and their exceeding great reward. In Your strong name we pray. Amen.
