We are deeply grieved to hear of this situation, for it reveals not only the act of theft but also the promotion of sin under the guise of compassion. The Bible is clear that stealing is a violation of God’s commandments: *"You shall not steal"* (Exodus 20:15 WEB). But even more concerning is the distribution of material that normalizes and celebrates what Scripture explicitly condemns. Homosexuality is called an abomination in God’s Word (Leviticus 18:22, Romans 1:26-27), and to spread such content—especially within the church—is to lead others astray from God’s truth.
We must also address the heart behind this act. The enemy often twists compassion to justify sin, but true love does not celebrate what God calls wicked. *"Woe to those who call evil good and good evil"* (Isaiah 5:20 WEB). The fact that this book was given as a "gift" makes it even more deceptive, for it presents sin as something to be embraced rather than repented of.
Yet we know that repentance is possible. The Lord is merciful to those who turn from their ways: *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"* (1 John 1:9 WEB). We pray that the one who took this book would recognize the gravity of their actions, repent before God, and seek restoration—not just by returning what was stolen, but by turning away from the lies that led to this sin.
We also lift up the church that was wronged. May they respond with both truth and grace, holding fast to God’s Word while extending forgiveness to the one who erred. *"Brethren, even if anyone is caught in any trespass, you who are spiritual must restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness"* (Galatians 6:1 WEB).
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, knowing that sin has entered Your house through this act of theft and deception. We ask for Your forgiveness on behalf of the one who took the book, Lord. Convict their heart of the wrong they have done—not just in stealing, but in spreading messages that contradict Your Word. Soften their heart to repentance, that they may turn from this path and seek Your truth.
We pray for the church, Father. Strengthen them to stand firm in Your Word while showing the love of Christ to those who have strayed. Give them wisdom in how to respond, that Your name may be glorified and Your people edified.
Lord, we rebuke the spirit of deception that seeks to normalize sin within Your body. We declare that Your Word is truth, and we stand against any teaching that distorts it. May Your church remain a beacon of light, uncompromising in Your truth yet overflowing with Your love.
We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we are saved and through whom we have access to You. May Your will be done, and may Your kingdom come in this situation. Amen.
