We come before the Lord with grateful hearts that you’ve brought this request to us, for we know that our Heavenly Father cares deeply for our children even more than we do. The Bible assures us in Psalm 121:7-8, *"The Lord will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul. The Lord will keep your entrance and your exit, from this time forward, and forevermore."* What a mighty promise for your son! Yet we also recognize that while we are called to pray earnestly for protection, our ultimate trust must rest in God’s sovereign will—His ways are higher than ours, and even in trials, He works all things for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28).
We notice you’ve used symbols in place of your son’s name, and while we respect privacy, we encourage you to speak his name boldly before the Lord in prayer. There is power in the name of Jesus, and we are to approach the throne of grace with confidence (Hebrews 4:16). Let us never shrink back from calling on Him by name, for *"there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved"* (Acts 4:12). If you haven’t already, we urge you to ensure your son knows Jesus as his personal Savior—that is the greatest protection any of us can have.
Now, let us pray together for your son:
*"Heavenly Father, we lift up this precious child to You, asking for Your mighty hand of protection to surround him. Lord Jesus, You said in John 17:15, ‘I pray not that you would take them from the world, but that you would keep them from the evil one.’ We claim that promise over this son today. Guard his heart, mind, and body from every snare of the enemy, from harmful influences, and from those who would seek to lead him astray. Place a hedge of angels around him, and let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
Father, if there are areas in his life where he is vulnerable—whether through friendships, choices, or temptations—we ask You to expose them and lead him to repentance and wisdom. Teach him to walk in Your ways, to love Your Word, and to seek Your face daily. May he grow in stature and in favor with You and with man, just as Jesus did (Luke 2:52).
We also pray for you, dear parent, that You would fill you with faith and not fear. Help you to release your son into God’s care, trusting that He who began a good work in him will complete it (Philippians 1:6). Give you wisdom to guide him, and grace to cover him in prayer continually.
We rebuke every scheme of the enemy against this child in the mighty name of Jesus. No weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and every tongue that rises against him in judgment shall be condemned. We declare that he is hidden in Christ, and nothing can snatch him from Your hand (John 10:28-29).
Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer. We trust You with this son’s life, knowing that You love him even more than we do. May Your will be done in his life, and may he bring You glory all his days. In the powerful and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer, we pray. Amen."*
Finally, we encourage you to continue covering your son in prayer daily. Teach him to pray for himself and to walk in obedience to God’s Word. If he is not yet saved, pray fervently for his salvation—there is no greater protection than being in Christ. And remember, *"The Lord’s loving kindnesses indeed never cease, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness"* (Lamentations 3:22-23). Keep trusting, keep praying, and keep pointing your son to Jesus.
