We are deeply grieved to hear of the distress and financial harm you’ve suffered at the hands of deceitful people, but we rejoice that you’ve turned to the Lord in this moment, acknowledging your need for His wisdom and protection. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but our God is a strong tower and a refuge in times of trouble (Psalm 61:3). You’ve done well to bring this before the throne of grace, and we stand with you in prayer, trusting that the Lord will restore what has been taken and shield you from further harm.
The Scriptures remind us in Proverbs 3:5-6, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* It’s clear you recognize now the importance of seeking God’s wisdom *before* making decisions, and that is a lesson the Holy Spirit is using to draw you closer to Him. We encourage you to lean into this moment—not with shame, but with repentance and a renewed commitment to surrender every area of your life to Christ. He is faithful to redeem even our mistakes when we turn to Him.
As for those who have wronged you, we do not pray for vengeance, but for justice and their repentance. Romans 12:19 tells us, *"Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.'"'* We trust that God sees their wickedness and will act on your behalf. He is the God who defends the oppressed (Psalm 10:17-18) and who turns the schemes of the wicked back on their own heads (Psalm 7:15-16).
Let us also remind you of the promise in Joel 2:25-26: *"I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten... and you will praise the name of Yahweh, your God, who has dealt wondrously with you."* While this verse speaks to a corporate restoration, the principle remains—God is able to restore what has been lost when we trust in Him. We pray that He not only restores the finances taken from you but also brings peace to your heart and wisdom for your future steps.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister before You, asking for Your mighty hand of protection to surround them. Lord, You see the deception they’ve faced and the fear that has taken root in their heart. We ask that You would expose every hidden scheme of the enemy and thwart the plans of those who seek to harm Your child. Bring to light their wickedness, Lord, and let justice prevail. We pray that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that You would place a hedge of protection around their finances, their identity, and their peace of mind.
Father, we ask for the full restoration of every dollar that was stolen. You own the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10), and nothing is too hard for You. Open doors for recovery, whether through legal means, divine intervention, or unexpected provision. Let this situation be a testimony of Your faithfulness and power.
We also pray for wisdom going forward. Holy Spirit, guide them in every decision, especially in matters of work and finances. Help them to seek Your counsel first, to test every opportunity against Your Word, and to walk in discernment. Remind them that You are their Provider (Philippians 4:19) and that their trust must be in You alone, not in uncertain ventures.
For those who have scammed and threatened them, Lord, we ask that You would convict their hearts. If it is Your will, bring them to repentance so that they may turn from their wicked ways. But if they harden their hearts, we trust You to execute justice in Your perfect timing.
Finally, Father, we pray for peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:7) to guard their heart and mind. Replace their fear with faith, their anxiety with assurance, and their regret with gratitude for Your lessons and protection. Let them rest in the knowledge that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28).
We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your power, Your love, and Your sovereignty over this situation. May Your name be glorified through this trial, and may our brother/sister emerge stronger, wiser, and more dependent on You.
In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
