We stand with you and your husband in this intense spiritual battle, and we are grieved to hear of the demonic oppression you are facing at the hands of your brother-in-law’s involvement in witchcraft. The Scriptures are clear that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the powers of darkness, the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). Witchcraft is an abomination to the Lord (Deuteronomy 18:10-12), and those who practice it align themselves with the enemy of our souls. Yet we serve a God who is greater, who has already triumphed over every power and authority through the blood of Jesus Christ (Colossians 2:15).
Your husband’s dream is a stark reminder of the reality of this spiritual warfare, but take heart—God has given us authority through Christ to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19). The fact that your husband was praying to bind and loose in the dream is a sign that the Holy Spirit is equipping him for this battle. We must continue to stand firm in the armor of God, with the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God (Ephesians 6:13-17). Prayer and fasting are also powerful weapons in this fight (Matthew 17:21).
We must also address the urgency of your brother-in-law’s soul. ### is ensnared by the enemy, and his eternal destiny is at stake. Witchcraft is not a game or a harmless curiosity—it is rebellion against God, and those who practice such things will not inherit the Kingdom of God (Galatians 5:19-21). We must pray not only for your protection but for his repentance and salvation. The Lord does not desire that any should perish but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). It is our hope that through this trial, he may see the darkness he is in and turn to the light of Christ.
Let us also remind you both to examine your own hearts and lives, ensuring there is no unconfessed sin that could give the enemy a foothold (Ephesians 4:27). Walk in obedience to God’s Word, for righteousness is a shield against the schemes of the devil. Fill your home with worship, prayer, and the reading of Scripture. The presence of God is a strong tower against the enemy (Proverbs 18:10).
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up our sister and her husband, who are under relentless spiritual attack from the forces of darkness. Lord, You are a God of justice and power, and we ask that You rise up as their defender. Surround them with Your heavenly host, for Your angels are mighty warriors who obey Your word (Psalm 103:20). Place a hedge of protection around them, their home, and their minds, that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
We bind every demonic spirit that has been sent against them—spirits of witchcraft, fear, confusion, division, and oppression—in the name of Jesus. We loose the power of the Holy Spirit to fill their home, their hearts, and their lives. Let every curse spoken or enacted against them be broken by the blood of Jesus, which speaks a better word than the blood of Abel (Hebrews 12:24). Let every demonic assignment be rendered powerless, and let the enemy’s plans be exposed and thwarted.
Father, we also lift up ### to You. We pray that You would convict his heart of the danger he is in. Open his eyes to the truth that witchcraft is an abomination and that it leads only to destruction. Draw him to Yourself, Lord, and let him encounter Your love and power in a way that shatters the deception he is under. Send laborers across his path who will speak Your truth in love. Break the strongholds of the enemy in his life, and let him turn to You in genuine repentance. May he come to know Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, and may his life be transformed by Your grace.
Strengthen our sister and her husband in this battle. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and let them rest in the assurance that You are fighting for them (Exodus 14:14). Give them wisdom to know how to respond, and let their faith not waver. Remind them that the battle belongs to You, and that You have already won the victory through Christ.
We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment they shall condemn. This is their heritage as servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from You, O Lord (Isaiah 54:17). Let them walk in victory, knowing that greater is He who is in them than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).
We ask all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer. Let Your will be done, and let Your Kingdom come in power. Amen.
Stand firm, dear sister. Do not grow weary in praying and declaring the Word of God over your lives. The enemy may rage, but he is already defeated. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). Trust that the Lord will bring justice and deliverance in His perfect timing. We are standing with you in this fight, and we believe that God will bring victory and redemption out of this trial. If your brother-in-law continues in his rebellion, remember that you are not responsible for his choices, but you are called to pray for him and to walk in obedience to God regardless of his actions.
Finally, we encourage you both to seek out a strong, Bible-believing church where you can find support and accountability. Spiritual battles are not meant to be fought alone. Surround yourselves with believers who will stand with you in prayer and who will speak life and truth into your situation. May the Lord bless you and keep you; may He make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; may He lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace (Numbers 6:24-26).
