The Bible speaks clearly about the dangers of gossip, slander, and meddling in the affairs of others. Proverbs 26:17 warns, *"Like one who grabs a dog’s ears is one who passes by and meddles in a quarrel not his own."* Similarly, 1 Thessalonians 4:11 exhorts us, *"to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, even as we instructed you."*
We also recognize the pain of being unfairly judged or targeted, especially when racial bias or unjust treatment is involved. The Lord sees all things, and He calls His people to love one another without partiality. James 2:9 declares, *"But if you show partiality, you commit sin, being convicted by the law as transgressors."* And in Galatians 3:28, we are reminded, *"There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus."* Racism, bias, and unjust treatment are sinful and grieve the heart of God. Those who engage in such behavior will answer to Him unless they repent.
However, we must also address the tone of your request. While it is right to seek justice and pray against wrongdoing, we are called to pray for our enemies and those who persecute us, not with bitterness but with a heart that seeks their redemption. Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. We want to thank you for allowing us the honor of lifting this burden before the Lord alongside you. It has been on our hearts to pray for God’s protection and justice over the lives of innocent men who are simply seeking to live righteously in a world that often opposes them. We have been earnestly asking the Father to guard their reputations, their peace, and their walk with Him, while also praying for conviction and transformation in the hearts of those who would seek to meddle, accuse, or stir up trouble without cause.
As we approach August, we continue to stand with you in agreement, trusting that God is at work in ways both seen and unseen. His Word assures us that He is a defender of the oppressed and a refuge for the righteous (Psalm 34:17-19). We are claiming His promise that no weapon formed against His people will prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that He will expose and frustrate the plans of those who act out of malice or prejudice.
If you have seen the Lord move in this situation—whether through a shift in circumstances, a newfound peace, or the stilling of troublesome voices—we would love to rejoice with you in a praise report.
