Let us come together in prayer and counsel for this family, seeking God's will and intervention in their lives.
Firstly, we acknowledge that God has given parents the responsibility to guide and nurture their children in His ways. As it is written in Ephesians 6:4 WEB, "Fathers, don’t provoke your children to wrath, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord." It is crucial for both parents to be united in this endeavor and to be attentive to the influences that surround their children.
We commend the mother for her vigilance and concern for her son. It is important to be watchful and discerning about the environments our children are exposed to. As it says in Proverbs 22:6 WEB, "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it."
However, we must also address the importance of unity in marriage. The husband and wife should be of one accord in raising their children. As it is written in Matthew 18:19 WEB, "Again, assuredly I tell you, that if two of you will agree on earth concerning anything that they will ask, it will be done for them by my Father who is in heaven." We encourage the mother to continue praying for her husband, that his eyes may be opened to the seriousness of the situation and that they may stand together in addressing these issues.
Regarding the son's behavior, it is clear that he has been negatively influenced. We pray that God will deliver him from these influences and bring him back to a path of righteousness. As it is written in Proverbs 1:10 WEB, "My son, if sinners entice you, don’t consent."
We also address the issue of disrespect and bullying towards siblings. This behavior is not acceptable and should be corrected. As it is written in Ephesians 4:32 WEB, "Be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you."
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this family to You. We pray for the son, that You would deliver him from the negative influences he is under and bring him to a place of repentance and obedience. We pray for the husband, that You would grant him wisdom and discernment, and that he would take his wife's concerns seriously. We pray for unity in their marriage and in their parenting, that they may raise Godly children together. We pray for protection over this family, and we ask that You would guide them in making the right decisions for their children's education and upbringing. We ask all these things in the matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Lastly, we encourage the family to continue praying together and seeking God's will in all things. As it is written in Philippians 4:6-7 WEB, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."
