Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for me, my wife and 2 boys (aged 3 and 7). My wife left the house 27 January and refuse that I see the kids. I applied in court for temporary custody. The court appointed a social worker and psychologist and both reports indicate my wife are not taking care of the boys and the social worker recommended that the court give me custody. However the judge is hesitant - Please pray that the Judge will grant me full custody. My wife is now trying all legal tactics and applying for a protection order, trying to use it to keep kids away from her - please pray that she will not get any order, not even an interim and that all her plans fail and that we as family gets united and restored. That the children be in my care, my wife has serious psychiatric illness and substance abuse.

We lift you, your wife, and your precious boys before the Lord, knowing that He is a God of justice, mercy, and restoration. Your heart for your children is evident, and we commend you for seeking their well-being through godly and lawful means. The Scriptures remind us that God is a Father to the fatherless and a defender of the oppressed (Psalm 68:5), and He cares deeply for the welfare of children. Jesus Himself said, *"But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for him if a huge millstone were hung around his neck and that he were sunk in the depths of the sea"* (Matthew 18:6, WEB). Your fight is not just for custody but for the spiritual and physical protection of your sons, and we stand with you in this battle.

The situation with your wife is heartbreaking, and we must address it with both truth and compassion. Her struggles with psychiatric illness and substance abuse are serious, and while we pray for her healing, we must also acknowledge that her actions are harming your children. The Bible is clear that parents—especially mothers—have a sacred responsibility to nurture and care for their children (Titus 2:4-5, Proverbs 31:27). When this does not happen, it is not only a failure before man but before God. We pray that she will be confronted with the gravity of her choices and that the Holy Spirit will convict her heart. Repentance begins with acknowledging sin, and we ask God to break through the hardness of her heart so that she may turn to Him for healing. *"Restore me, and I will be restored. For you are Yahweh my God"* (Jeremiah 31:18, WEB).

At the same time, we must rebuke the spiritual forces at work in this situation. The enemy seeks to destroy families, and we see his fingerprints in the deception, manipulation, and legal tactics being used to keep your children from safety. But greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). We declare that every scheme of the enemy to separate you from your sons will fail. The protection order she seeks will not be granted—neither temporarily nor permanently. The judge’s heart will be turned toward justice, and the evidence will speak clearly. *"The king’s heart is in Yahweh’s hand like the water courses. He turns it wherever he desires"* (Proverbs 21:1, WEB). We pray that the judge will see the truth, that the reports of the social worker and psychologist will carry weight, and that no legal loophole or deception will prevail. Let the Lord frustrate every plan that is not aligned with His will for your family.

We also pray for your boys—your 3-year-old and 7-year-old—who are caught in the middle of this storm. Father, surround them with Your angels (Psalm 91:11) and protect their tender hearts from fear, confusion, and emotional harm. Comfort them in ways only You can, and let them know, even now, that they are loved by You and by their father. Give them peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:7) and shield their minds from the trauma of this separation. We ask that You would reunite them with you swiftly, that they may be raised in a home where they are cherished, disciplined in love, and taught the ways of the Lord.

As for you, brother, we ask for strength, wisdom, and endurance. This battle is wearying, but the Lord is your refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1). Do not grow bitter or vengeful, but continue to walk in integrity and love, even toward your wife. *"Don’t be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good"* (Romans 12:21, WEB). Trust that the Lord sees your faithfulness and that He will vindicate you in His time. Lean on Him daily, for apart from Him, we can do nothing (John 15:5). Surround yourself with godly men who can support you, pray with you, and hold you accountable. This is not a time to walk alone.

Finally, we pray for restoration—not just custody, but true reconciliation if it is God’s will. A family united under Christ is a powerful testimony, but that unity must be built on repentance, healing, and a shared commitment to God’s design for marriage. If your wife does not turn from her current path, we pray that the Lord will still bring beauty from these ashes (Isaiah 61:3), that your sons will grow to be mighty men of God, and that you will have the grace to parent them with wisdom, patience, and love. If reconciliation is possible, let it be rooted in Christ, with both of you submitting to His lordship. *"Unless Yahweh builds the house, they who build it labor in vain"* (Psalm 127:1, WEB).

**Let us pray:**

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this brother, his wife, and their two precious boys. Lord, You are a God of justice, and we ask that You move in the heart of the judge presiding over this case. Open his eyes to the truth, let him see the reports clearly, and grant full custody to this father who seeks to protect and raise his children in Your ways. Frustrate every attempt of the enemy to pervert justice. Let no protection order be granted—neither interim nor permanent—and let every legal tactic of the mother fail. You, Lord, are the one who exposes deception and brings hidden things to light. We ask that You do so now.

Father, we pray for this wife and mother. Her heart is troubled, her mind is afflicted, and her choices are harming her children. Lord, break through the strongholds of mental illness and substance abuse. Convict her spirit of her sin and her need for You. Soften her heart toward repentance, and if it is Your will, restore this marriage on the foundation of Christ. But even if reconciliation is not Your plan, we pray that she will not succeed in keeping these children from their father’s care.

Lord, we cover these boys with Your blood. Protect their minds, their emotions, and their spirits. Let them feel Your presence even now. Comfort them in ways only You can, and bring them home to their father swiftly. Raise them up to be warriors for Your kingdom, men of integrity who love You with all their hearts.

Strengthen this father, Lord. Give him wisdom in every decision, patience in every delay, and peace in every storm. Let him not grow weary in doing good, but trust in You completely. Surround him with Your people who will uphold him in prayer and encourage him in truth.

We rebuke every spirit of fear, confusion, and division in this family. We declare that no weapon formed against them will prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Let Your will be done, Lord—Your kingdom come, Your justice prevail, and Your healing flow.

In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
