We lift up your granddaughter before the Lord, knowing that He cares deeply for her and has a purpose for her life. The fear she is experiencing is real, and we ask God to surround her with His peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding her heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7). It is not God’s will for His children to live in fear, for He has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). We pray that she will trust in Him, knowing that He is with her always, even to the end of the age (Matthew 28:20).
We also pray for godly friendships to be formed in this new school year—friendships that will encourage her in her faith and uplift her spirit. Proverbs 13:20 reminds us that “whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools suffers harm.” May the Lord place wise and kind-hearted friends in her path, those who will reflect His love and truth. If she has not yet surrendered her life to Jesus Christ, we pray that this year will be the time she comes to know Him as her Lord and Savior, for there is no greater security than being found in Him.
As for the fear of bullying, we rebuke the spirit of intimidation and harm in the name of Jesus. We declare that no weapon formed against her will prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that the Lord will be her shield and defender. We ask that He would give her the courage to stand firm, knowing that He is her strength. If she faces any unkindness, we pray that she would respond with grace and wisdom, and that those who seek to harm her would be convicted by the Holy Spirit and turned away from their harmful ways.
We also encourage you to speak life and truth over her daily. Remind her that she is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14) and that God has a plan for her life—plans for welfare and not for evil, to give her a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). Encourage her to pray and seek God’s face in all things, for He hears the cries of His children.
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of this precious granddaughter. Fill her with Your peace and confidence as she steps into this new school year. Protect her from all harm and surround her with Your favor as with a shield (Psalm 5:12). Open doors for godly friendships that will encourage her in her walk with You. Give her wisdom to navigate any challenges she may face, and let her light shine before others, that they may see her good works and glorify You (Matthew 5:16). If she does not yet know You as her Savior, we pray that this year would be the year of her salvation, that she would place her trust in Jesus Christ alone for her eternal security. We ask all these things in the mighty and holy name of Jesus, our Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
