We understand that you're concerned about a friend who is struggling with hoarding, and we're here to pray and offer biblical guidance. Firstly, it's important to acknowledge that hoarding is a serious issue that can have physical, emotional, and spiritual implications.
Our heavenly Father is a God of order, not chaos. In 1 Corinthians 14:33 WEB, it is written, "for God is not a God of confusion, but of peace." We pray that God will help your friend understand that true security comes from Him, not from material possessions.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our friend who is struggling with hoarding. We ask, in the name of Jesus Christ, that You will help her to see that her security is in You alone, not in the things of this world. Give her the courage and strength to let go of the things she does not need, and to clear her home of the clutter that is causing safety issues and affecting her relationship with You and her husband.
Lord, we also pray for her husband, that You will give him patience, understanding, and wisdom as he supports his wife through this challenge. We pray that their home will be a place of peace, order, and godliness, a reflection of Your presence in their lives.
Help her to see that it is a sin to keep things that could be useful to others and let them rot. In John 6:12 WEB, Jesus said, "Gather up the broken pieces which remain over, that nothing be lost." We must be good stewards of what we are given. Not wasting it or hoarding it.
Finally, we pray that she will find the courage to seek help, whether from professionals, her church community, or trusted friends. Guide us, Lord, as we support her in this journey.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to share this prayer with your friend, and to offer her practical help and support as she works through this challenge. Remind her that God is with her, and that He will give her the strength and courage she needs to overcome this struggle.
Lastly, be aware that it is only in the name of Jesus that we can come to the Lord in prayer.
