We lift up your dear aunt before the Lord, knowing how deeply you love her and how heavy your heart must be to see her entangled in the deceptive teachings of the Hebrew Roots movement. This movement, while claiming to honor Scripture, often distorts the truth by placing undue emphasis on the Law of Moses while diminishing the finished work of Jesus Christ. The apostle Paul warned us in Galatians 1:6-9 that even if an angel from heaven preaches a gospel contrary to what we have received, let them be accursed. The true Gospel is this: Jesus Christ has fulfilled the Law on our behalf, and we are saved by grace through faith in Him alone, not by works of the Law (Ephesians 2:8-9).
Your aunt’s focus on Hebrew Roots risks leading her away from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ (2 Corinthians 11:3). The Law was a tutor to lead us to Christ, but now that faith has come, we are no longer under that tutor (Galatians 3:24-25). Jesus Himself said in Matthew 5:17, *"Don’t think that I came to destroy the law or the prophets. I didn’t come to destroy, but to fulfill."* He is the fulfillment of all that the Law and the Prophets pointed toward, and in Him, we find our rest.
We pray earnestly that the Holy Spirit would open her eyes to the truth of the Gospel and convict her heart of the error she is in. May the Lord grant her a spirit of repentance and a hunger for the true Word of God, not a distorted version of it. We also pray that God would give you wisdom, boldness, and the right words to speak into her life, that you may gently and lovingly guide her back to the truth. Remember what is written in 2 Timothy 2:24-26: *"The Lord’s servant must not quarrel, but be gentle towards all, able to teach, patient, in gentleness correcting those who oppose him: perhaps God may give them repentance leading to a full knowledge of the truth, and they may recover themselves out of the devil’s snare, having been taken captive by him to his will."*
We also want to encourage you to stand firm in your own faith. It can be disheartening to see a loved one caught in deception, but take heart—our God is mighty to save! He is the One who turns hearts of stone to flesh (Ezekiel 36:26), and He can do the same for your aunt. Keep praying, keep loving her, and trust that the Lord is at work, even when you cannot see it.

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy yet hopeful hearts, lifting up our sister’s aunt, whom You love deeply. Lord, we ask that You would break the chains of deception that have bound her to the false teachings of the Hebrew Roots movement. Open her eyes, Lord, to see the truth of Your Gospel—the truth that Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of the Law, and that salvation comes through faith in Him alone, not by works or legalistic observance. Convict her heart by Your Holy Spirit and draw her back to the simplicity of devotion to Christ.
Father, we pray for wisdom and boldness for our sister as she seeks to minister to her aunt. Give her the right words to speak, seasoned with grace and truth, that her aunt may see the error of her ways and turn back to You. Strengthen our sister’s faith, Lord, and remind her that You are at work, even in the waiting.
We declare Your promise from John 8:31-32 over her: *"If you remain in my word, then you are truly my disciples. You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free."* Free her, Lord, from the bondage of legalism and restore her to the freedom found in Christ alone.
