We understand your concern for mixed-race individuals to be recognized and respected for their full heritage. In Jesus' name, we come together to pray and seek God's will on this matter.
Firstly, we acknowledge that God has made all people of one blood. We are all descendants of Adam.
And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; Acts 17:26 WEB
We pray for those who are mixed-race African Americans, that they would not be merely labeled as 'black', but that the diversity of their heritage would be acknowledged and respected. We pray against any racist or derogatory remarks or treatment towards them, and we rebuke any spirit of prejudice or ignorance that would seek to diminish their rich ethnic background.
We stand against any attempts by people or institutions to use it to promote the interests of one group over another. We do not pray to any other but God in heaven.
We also recognize that this issue is not just about perception, but also about how we treat each other as human beings, each made in the image of God.
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. Genesis 1:26 WEB
We pray for a spirit of understanding and unity, that we would see each other as brothers and sisters in Christ, rather than labels or categories that the world may use. We pray for healing and reconciliation in our communities and in our nation.
We appreciate that this request was made in Jesus' name. For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. The Bible tells us that we have been saved through faith in Jesus, It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed.
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Acts 4:12 WEB
Let us remember that God is not a respecter of persons. He sees us all as his children, and he wants us to love and respect one another as such.
Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him. Acts 10:34-35 WEB
We encourage everyone to walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
Heavenly Father, we lift up mixed-race individuals to you, and we ask that you would surround them with your favor and protection. Help us to see each other as you see us, and to love each other as you love us. Help us to be a light in this world, to stand against injustice and prejudice, and to walk in love and unity. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
