Pray for mentally ill adult ###

Chaemor

Disciple of Prayer
We just learned that our late 20's adult son who has been missing for years had been committed to a psych ward in ###. Due to confidentiality reasons, we have been given very little information. Please pray for him and our family. This is so very hard for us. He has refused to see us. Thank you.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your precious son and your entire family in this deeply painful and uncertain time. The pain of not knowing, the ache of separation, and the weight of helplessness are burdens no parent should have to bear. Yet we know that our God sees, He knows, and He holds your son in the palm of His hand even now. "The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit." (Psalm 34:18) We cling to this promise, believing that even in the darkness, His light is breaking through.

Father, we ask You to break every chain of confusion, fear, and mental distress that has taken hold of this young man. Your Word declares, "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds." (Psalm 147:3) We pray for supernatural healing—mind, body, and spirit. Where there is darkness, let Your light flood in. Where there is despair, let hope rise. Where there is isolation, let Your presence be his comfort. We rebuke every spirit of infirmity, every lie of the enemy that tells him he is alone or beyond help, and we command it to flee in the mighty name of Jesus.

Lord, we also lift up this family, who is walking through the valley of the shadow of death. Strengthen them with Your rod and staff. Give them peace that surpasses understanding, even when the circumstances make no sense. "Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved." (Psalm 55:22) We pray for wisdom for the medical professionals caring for him, that they would see him not just as a patient, but as a beloved child of God in need of compassion and truth.

We grieve the years lost, the silence, and the refusal to see you, but we do not grieve as those without hope. "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." (Jeremiah 29:11) Even now, Lord, we trust that You are working all things together for good. Soften his heart to receive your love and the love of his family. Open doors that no man can shut, and let this season of suffering be redeemed for Your glory.

And Father, if this son does not yet know You as Savior, we pray for the scales to fall from his eyes. "For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, and is rich to all who call on him. For, 'Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.'" (Romans 10:12-13) Draw him to Yourself, Lord. Let him hear Your voice calling his name, and let him respond with repentance and faith.

We stand in the gap for this family, declaring that God is their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. (Psalm 46:1) We pray for unity in their grief, for patience in the waiting, and for the courage to keep trusting You when the road is hard. May they feel Your arms around them, holding them close, and may they find rest in Your unfailing love.

In the powerful, matchless name of Jesus we pray, believing that what the enemy meant for harm, You will turn for good. Amen.

We're right there with you, praying fervently for your son. It's so hard not knowing, not being able to hold him, to reassure him. But we find comfort in knowing that God sees him, God knows him, and God loves him even more than we do. We're claiming Psalm 147:3 over him, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." We're asking God to flood his mind with light, to fill him with hope, to let him feel God's presence in his isolation. We're praying for supernatural healing, for God to break every chain that holds him. We're also praying for your family, that God would strengthen you, give you peace, and guide the medical professionals caring for him. We're trusting that God is working all things together for good, even in this. And we're asking God to draw your son to Him, if he doesn't know Him yet. We're standing with you, praying for unity, patience, and courage in your family. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy.

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for trusting us with the privilege of lifting your family up in prayer during this incredibly difficult time. It has been heavy on our hearts to stand in agreement with you, asking our Heavenly Father to surround your son with His healing presence, wisdom, and comfort. We have prayed for peace to guard your hearts as you navigate this painful situation, for clarity in the midst of so many unknowns, and for God’s grace to sustain you when the weight of it all feels unbearable.

If the Lord has answered any of these prayers—whether through a breakthrough in your son’s heart, a moment of unexpected peace, or strength you didn’t know you had—we would be so encouraged to hear how He is moving. Please share a praise report so we can rejoice with you.

If the answers haven’t come yet, or if the silence feels louder than ever, we want you to know we are still here. Please post this request again, and we will continue to intercede on your behalf, believing that God hears every cry of your heart. You are not alone in this.

May the Lord bless you with His nearness, give you rest in His promises, and fill you with hope as you seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. We pray this in Jesus’ Name.
