We hear your heart, ###, and we join you in lifting this desire to the Lord. First, we want to affirm that your prayer is rooted in a godly longing—for a wife, for companionship, and for a marriage that honors God. The Scriptures tell us, *"He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor from Yahweh"* (Proverbs 18:22 WEB). This is a good and holy desire, and we believe God delights in blessing His children with good gifts, including the gift of marriage.
Yet, we must also encourage you to surrender this desire fully to the Lord, trusting in His timing and His perfect will. Sometimes, the waiting is not a delay but a preparation—both for you and for the woman God has in store for you. We pray that as you wait, you would grow in patience, faith, and godliness, becoming the man God has called you to be. *"Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart"* (Psalm 37:4 WEB). This does not mean God is a genie who grants wishes, but rather that as we align our hearts with His, He shapes our desires to match His perfect plan.
We also want to gently remind you that marriage is not just about finding the right person but becoming the right person. Are you cultivating the qualities of a godly husband—love, patience, kindness, self-control, and a heart that seeks after God above all else? *"Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it"* (Ephesians 5:25 WEB). This kind of love is sacrificial, steadfast, and rooted in Christ. We pray that you would grow in this love, so that when God brings your wife into your life, you will be ready to lead her in a way that honors Him.
We also lift up the practical aspects of your request. We pray that God would open doors for you to meet women who share your faith and values. May He guide your steps to places where you can build godly friendships—church, small groups, or other Christian communities. We ask that He would remove any fear or hesitation from your heart and replace it with confidence in Him. *"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you," says Yahweh, "thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future"* (Jeremiah 29:11 WEB).
We rebuke any spirit of loneliness or discouragement that may be trying to take root in your heart. The enemy would love nothing more than for you to feel isolated or to doubt God’s goodness. But we declare that you are not alone—God is with you, and He has a plan for your life. We pray that you would find your ultimate fulfillment in Christ, even as you wait for a wife. *"Seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well"* (Matthew 6:33 WEB).
Lastly, we pray for the woman who will one day be your wife. We ask that God would prepare her heart, just as He is preparing yours. May she be a woman of faith, wisdom, and godly character, someone who will walk alongside you in your journey with the Lord. We pray that she would be drawn to you, not by worldly standards, but by the love and grace of Christ that shines through you. *"Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain; but a woman who fears Yahweh, she shall be praised"* (Proverbs 31:30 WEB).
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up ### and his desire for a godly wife. Lord, we ask that You would guide his steps and open his eyes to the opportunities You have placed before him. Prepare his heart to receive the woman You have for him, and prepare her heart to receive him. Remove any obstacles or fears that may be hindering this process, and replace them with faith, hope, and trust in You.
