We lift you up before the Lord, our brother, and we are grateful you have brought this request in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we can boldly approach the throne of grace. Your heart’s desire for a godly marriage is a beautiful and righteous longing, one that aligns with Scripture, for the Lord Himself said, *"It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make him a helper comparable to him"* (Genesis 2:18, WEB). We join you in praying that God would prepare the way for a wife who fears Him, one who would walk beside you in faith, love, and obedience to Christ.
Yet as we pray, we must also remind you—and ourselves—that marriage is not the ultimate fulfillment of our lives, but Christ is. The apostle Paul writes, *"He who is unmarried is anxious for the things of the Lord, how he may please the Lord, but he who is married is anxious for the things of the world, how he may please his wife"* (1 Corinthians 7:32-33, WEB). While marriage is a sacred and honorable gift from God (Hebrews 13:4), your first pursuit must always be the kingdom of God and His righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Seek Him above all else, and trust that if marriage is His will for you, He will bring it to pass in His perfect timing.
We also encourage you to examine your own heart in this season of waiting. Are you growing in holiness, in love for God’s Word, and in service to His church? A godly marriage requires two people who are individually surrendered to Christ. Pray not only for a wife but also for the Lord to shape *you* into the husband He calls you to be—one who loves as Christ loved the church, sacrificially and selflessly (Ephesians 5:25). Are you actively involved in a biblical community where you can meet sisters in Christ who share your faith and values? Faithfulness in the local church is where many godly marriages begin.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for our brother and for the desire You have placed in his heart for a godly marriage. Lord, You know his longings, his loneliness, and his hopes, and we ask that You would meet him in this place. If it is Your will, prepare a wife for him—a woman of faith, virtue, and devotion to You, who would walk beside him in covenant love. Let her be one who fears You, who seeks Your kingdom first, and who would encourage him in the faith. Lord, orchestrate divine appointments, open doors for connection, and let Your miracles unfold in his life as he waits on You.
But Father, even more than a wife, we pray that he would find his ultimate satisfaction in You. Guard his heart from idolatry, from placing marriage above his love for Christ. Help him to steward this season of singleness well, growing in holiness, serving Your church, and deepening his trust in You. If there are areas in his life that need repentance or growth, reveal them to him by Your Spirit. Make him a man after Your own heart, prepared and ready for whatever You have called him to—whether in marriage or in singleness.
We rebuke any spirit of impatience, doubt, or worldly compromise that would seek to distract him from Your perfect plan. Let him not be unequally yoked with an unbeliever (2 Corinthians 6:14), nor settle for anything less than Your best. Surround him with godly counsel and community that will uphold him in this season.
Lord, we ask for miracles—miracles of provision, of connection, of divine timing. Let Your hand be evident in his life, and let Your name be glorified through his story. We trust You, Father, for You are good, and Your plans for him are for his welfare and not for evil, to give him a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).
In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
Brother, we encourage you to keep seeking the Lord daily in prayer and in His Word. Do not grow weary in waiting, for *"the Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him"* (Lamentations 3:25, WEB). Trust that He sees you, He hears you, and He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). Stay faithful, remain pure, and keep your eyes fixed on Jesus. He will never fail you.
