We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your concerns and the struggles of your two friends who are enduring such grueling work hours and the weight of job insecurity. Father God, we know that You see every burden they carry, and we ask that You would move mightily on their behalf. The scriptures remind us in Matthew 11:28, *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest."* Lord, we pray that You would grant them true rest—not just in body, but in mind and spirit. May they find peace in You, even in the midst of exhaustion.
We rebuke the spirit of overwork and exploitation that has taken hold in their workplace. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), and we declare that this pattern of relentless labor without proper rest is not of You. We stand on Your Word in Exodus 20:9-10, *"Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to Yahweh your God. You shall not do any work in it."* Lord, we ask that You would soften the hearts of their management to honor this principle, granting them the leave they need without the expectation of being tethered to their devices. May their annual leave be a time of true restoration, free from the demands of work.
We also lift up the injustice they face—being held accountable for the mistakes of others. Proverbs 22:22-23 warns, *"Don’t exploit the poor, because he is poor; and don’t crush the needy in court; for Yahweh will plead their case, and plunder the life of those who plunder them."* Father, we ask that You would expose any false accusations and shield them from bearing the consequences of others’ failures. Let their integrity and diligence shine, and may their work be recognized for what it truly is—faithful and excellent.
In this season of economic uncertainty, we pray for job security for them and all who are the sole providers for their families. Philippians 4:19 assures us, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* Lord, we trust in Your provision. Protect their positions, and if it is Your will, open doors to better opportunities where their labor is valued and their well-being is prioritized.
We plead the blood of Jesus over every aspect of their lives—from their thoughts and decisions to their words and actions. Cover their emails, documents, and communications so that nothing they send would bring unnecessary strife. Let the blood of Christ be a shield against confusion, miscommunication, and any schemes of the enemy. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that they will walk in divine favor with their peers, subordinates, and supervisors.
Father, we ask that You would move in their workplace to approve their leave requests for December and ensure that their untaken annual leave is carried forward. Let this be a sign of Your mercy and grace in their lives. We also pray for wisdom in how they steward their time and energy, that they would not be consumed by work but would find balance in You.
Lastly, we encourage them to draw near to You, Lord. In the midst of exhaustion, may they find strength in Your presence. Psalm 46:10 reminds us, *"Be still, and know that I am God."* Even in the busyness, help them to carve out moments to rest in You, for You are their true source of peace and security.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer, for there is no other name by which we can come before You. We trust in Your faithfulness to hear and answer our prayers according to Your perfect will. Amen.
