Pray for Jesus to remove the foreigners (idol) of the government except for ###

Faithful Servant
Pray for Jesus to remove the foreigners (idol) to work in Singapore of the government and to boost the population of Singapore with foreigners everywhere except for tourist

We understand your deep concern for your nation and its spiritual well-being, as well as the desire to see God’s will done in Singapore. The Bible calls us to pray for our leaders and nations, seeking God’s wisdom and righteousness to prevail. However, we must approach this with a heart aligned to Scripture, remembering that God’s ways are higher than ours, and His love extends to all people—regardless of nationality—while also calling His people to holiness and obedience.

First, let us address the heart behind your request. The Bible warns us against idolatry, which is the worship of anything or anyone above God. In Exodus 20:3-5, God commands, *“You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourselves an idol, nor any image of anything that is in the heavens above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: you shall not bow yourself down to them, nor serve them.”* If the government—or anything else—has become an idol in the hearts of the people, replacing trust in God with trust in human systems or foreign influences, then we must pray for repentance and a turning back to the Lord. However, we must also remember that God is sovereign over the nations, and He uses even foreign peoples for His purposes. In Jeremiah 29:7, God instructed His people in exile, *“Seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray to Yahweh for it; for in its peace you will have peace.”* This reminds us that even in nations where foreigners reside, we are to seek God’s shalom—His peace, prosperity, and righteousness—for all.

The issue of foreigners in a land is not new. In the Old Testament, God gave Israel instructions on how to treat foreigners among them, saying in Leviticus 19:33-34, *“If a stranger lives as a foreigner with you in your land, you shall not do him wrong. The stranger who lives as a foreigner with you shall be to you as the native-born among you, and you shall love him as yourself; for you lived as foreigners in the land of Egypt. I am Yahweh your God.”* This does not mean we ignore wisdom or the need for godly governance, but it does mean our hearts must reflect Christ’s love and justice, not hatred or fear. If there are concerns about the spiritual influence of foreigners, we must pray for the Church in Singapore to rise up in boldness, sharing the Gospel and making disciples. Matthew 28:19-20 commands us, *“Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I commanded you.”* The answer to spiritual decline is not merely the removal of people but the advancement of the Kingdom of God through the preaching of the Gospel and the transformation of hearts.

We also note that your request seems to carry a tone of exclusion, which we must gently address. The Gospel is for all people—Jew and Gentile, native and foreigner. In Galatians 3:28, Paul writes, *“There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”* Our prayer should be that all people in Singapore—whether citizens or foreigners—would encounter the saving grace of Jesus Christ and turn from idolatry to worship the one true God. If there are concerns about the government’s policies, we must pray for wisdom for its leaders, that they would govern justly and righteously. 1 Timothy 2:1-2 tells us, *“I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks be made for all men: for kings and all who are in high places, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence.”*

Lastly, we must address the absence of the name of Jesus in your request. It is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to the Father, and it is by His authority that we pray. Jesus Himself said in John 14:6, *“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.”* And in Acts 4:12, Peter declares, *“There is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!”* When we pray, we must come boldly before the throne of grace in the name of Jesus, for He is our Mediator and Advocate. If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so. Romans 10:9 says, *“That if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”* Salvation and the power of prayer come only through Him.

Now, let us pray together for Singapore, its people, and its leaders:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up the nation of Singapore to You, asking for Your wisdom, righteousness, and mercy to prevail in its government, its people, and its policies. Lord, You are sovereign over all nations, and Your heart is for all people to come to the knowledge of Your truth. We pray that You would raise up godly leaders in Singapore who seek Your face and govern with justice and integrity. Give them wisdom to make decisions that honor You and bless the people, both citizens and foreigners alike.

Father, we ask that You would protect Singapore from any form of idolatry—whether it be trust in human systems, foreign influences, or anything that exalts itself above You. Convict the hearts of those who have turned away from You, and draw them back in repentance. Let Your Church in Singapore rise up in boldness, preaching the Gospel without fear and making disciples of all nations within its borders. May Your Holy Spirit move powerfully, bringing salvation to the lost and revival to the believers.

Lord, we pray for the foreign workers and residents in Singapore. Open their hearts to receive Your love and truth. Raise up believers among them who will share the Gospel with their countrymen. Let Singapore be a place where Your name is lifted high, and where all people—regardless of their nationality—can encounter Your saving grace.

We also pray for the citizens of Singapore, that they would not harbor fear, bitterness, or resentment toward foreigners but would instead reflect Your love and hospitality. Help them to see others through Your eyes and to be instruments of Your peace. Unify Your people in Singapore under the banner of Christ, that they may stand firm in faith and be a light in the darkness.

Father, we ask that You would bless Singapore with godly families, strong marriages, and a generation that seeks You wholeheartedly. Increase the population not just in number but in faith, that Singapore may be a nation that honors You in all things. Protect its borders, its economy, and its people from harm, and let Your will be done in every area of its society.

We rebuke any spirit of division, hatred, or idolatry that may be at work in Singapore. By the authority of Jesus Christ, we command these spirits to flee, and we ask You to fill every heart with Your love, Your truth, and Your peace. Let Singapore be a nation that seeks first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting in You alone.

Finally, Lord, we pray for the one who submitted this request. If there is any fear, anger, or bitterness in their heart, we ask that You would replace it with Your love and trust. Draw them closer to You, and help them to see others as You see them. Strengthen their faith, and let them be a vessel of Your grace and truth in their nation.

We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
