Faithful Servant
Pray for Jesus to let me know am I wrong doing ### (a form of martial art) then if it is wrong at least let me finish up this ### weeks of lessons as it is paid and guide me to another sports.

We understand your desire for clarity regarding whether practicing Thai *** (a form of martial arts) aligns with God’s will for your life. The Bible calls us to examine everything in light of Scripture, ensuring that our actions honor Christ and do not lead us—or others—into spiritual compromise. Let us turn to God’s Word for wisdom on this matter.

First, we must consider the purpose and spirit behind what we engage in. The apostle Paul teaches in **1 Corinthians 10:23-24 (WEB)**, *"All things are lawful for me, but not all things are profitable. All things are lawful for me, but not all things build up. Let no one seek his own, but each one his neighbor’s good."* While martial arts can be used for self-defense, discipline, or physical fitness, we must ask: Does this practice glorify God? Does it align with the fruits of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (**Galatians 5:22-23**)? Or does it foster aggression, pride, or a spirit contrary to Christ’s teachings?

Additionally, we are called to be set apart from the world. **2 Corinthians 6:17 (WEB)** reminds us, *"Therefore ‘Come out from among them, and be separate,’ says the Lord. ‘Touch no unclean thing. I will receive you."* Some martial arts have roots in non-Christian spiritual practices, such as Buddhism or Eastern mysticism, which may involve bowing to idols, chanting, or meditative techniques that conflict with our worship of the one true God. If the Thai *** you are practicing includes any of these elements, it is wise to prayerfully reconsider your involvement. Even if the physical techniques themselves are neutral, the spiritual associations can be dangerous. **1 Corinthians 8:4-6 (WEB)** declares, *"We know that no idol is anything in the world, and that there is no other God but one. For though there are things that are called ‘gods,’ whether in the heavens or on earth; as there are many ‘gods’ and many ‘lords’; yet to us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and we live through him."*

We also encourage you to reflect on **Philippians 4:8 (WEB)**, which says, *"Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things."* Does this activity fill your mind with what is pure and praiseworthy, or does it distract you from your walk with Christ?

If after prayerful consideration you sense conviction from the Holy Spirit that this is not pleasing to God, we urge you to obey that leading—even if it means walking away before completing the paid lessons. Trust that the Lord will provide another form of physical activity that aligns with His will. He is faithful to guide those who seek Him (**Proverbs 3:5-6**). There are many alternatives, such as running, swimming, weightlifting, or team sports, that can offer discipline and fitness without spiritual compromise.

Now, let us pray together for you:

Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister to You, asking for Your clear and unmistakable guidance regarding their involvement in Thai ***. Lord, You are the God of all wisdom, and we ask that You reveal to them through Your Holy Spirit whether this practice is honoring to You. If it is not pleasing in Your sight, we pray You would give them the strength and conviction to walk away, even if it means leaving behind what has already been paid for. Father, You own the cattle on a thousand hills (**Psalm 50:10**), and we trust You to provide another outlet for physical discipline and fitness that aligns with Your Word.

We rebuke any spiritual influences tied to this practice that are not of You, Lord. Break every chain that may seek to bind our brother/sister to anything that does not glorify Your name. Fill them with Your peace and assurance as they seek Your will. Lead them to a community or activity that builds them up in body, soul, and spirit for Your kingdom.

If there is any area of their heart that is resistant to Your leading, we ask that You soften it, Lord. Help them to surrender fully to Your will, knowing that Your plans are good, pleasing, and perfect (**Romans 12:2**). Give them discernment to recognize any hidden dangers or compromises, and grant them the courage to obey You without hesitation.

We also pray for their finances, Lord. If they have already invested in these lessons, we ask that You would either redeem this time for Your purposes or provide a way for them to transition smoothly into something else without loss. You are Jehovah Jireh, our Provider, and we trust You to meet every need according to Your riches in glory (**Philippians 4:19**).

Finally, Father, we ask that You would surround our brother/sister with godly counsel—believers who can speak wisdom and truth into their life. May they be rooted and grounded in Your Word, so that every decision they make is filtered through the lens of Scripture.

We pray all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to spend time in prayer and fasting as you seek the Lord’s will in this matter. Read His Word diligently, and ask Him to speak to you through it. If you sense any unease or conviction, do not ignore it—it may very well be the Holy Spirit guiding you. Remember, obedience to God always brings blessing, even when it requires sacrifice.

If you would like, share more details about the specific practices involved in your training. Are there any spiritual or ceremonial elements tied to it? This could help us provide more targeted counsel. May the Lord grant you clarity and peace as you seek His face. Stay steadfast in Christ, and trust that He will never lead you astray.

We're praying with you, friend. It's great that you're seeking God's will in this matter. Let's approach this together, step by step.

First, let's ask God to give you a clear understanding of His will. In Jeremiah 29:13, God promises, "You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." So, let's ask Him to reveal His heart to you in this situation.

Next, consider the spirit behind your involvement in Thai martial arts. Is it for self-defense, discipline, or fitness? Are these goals honoring to God? Remember, "So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God" (1 Corinthians 10:31).

Also, think about the fruits of your involvement. Does it produce love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23)? Or does it foster aggression, pride, or a spirit contrary to Christ?

Lastly, consider any spiritual associations tied to the practice. Even if the physical techniques are neutral, spiritual associations can be dangerous. As 1 Corinthians 8:4-6 reminds us, there's only one true God, and we should not be involved in practices that honor other 'gods'.

Now, let's pray together:

"Dear Lord, we come before You today, seeking Your will for our brother/sister. Lord, You know their heart and their situation better than anyone. We ask that You would give them clarity and understanding as they consider their involvement in Thai martial arts. Help them to discern Your will, and give them the strength and courage to obey it, even if it means walking away from something they've already paid for. Lord, You are faithful, and we trust that You will provide another outlet for physical discipline and fitness that aligns with Your will. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
