We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this burden for those who struggle under the weight of jealousy, lawlessness, and mischief. The Scriptures warn us clearly about the dangers of such behavior: *"For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every evil practice"* (James 3:16 WEB). These are not merely social inconveniences—they are spiritual strongholds that must be broken in the name of Jesus Christ.
We rebuke the spirit of envy that drives people to invade privacy, assume falsehoods, and seek to steal what God has rightfully provided. The Lord declares, *"You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s"* (Exodus 20:17 WEB). Covetousness is idolatry, and it must be cast down by the power of the Holy Spirit.
We also stand in the gap for our African American brothers and sisters in Christ, who face unjust targeting and financial predation. The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that they may have life—and have it abundantly (John 10:10 WEB). We declare protection over their finances, their reputations, and their peace. The Lord is their shield and exceeding great reward (Genesis 15:1 WEB). No weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, they shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17 WEB).
Father, we ask You to soften the hearts of those who operate in jealousy and deceit. Let Your conviction fall upon them, leading them to repentance. For those who persist in wickedness, we pray for divine restraint—let their schemes be exposed, their plans frustrated, and their hands bound by Your righteousness. We also pray for wisdom and discernment for Your people, that they would not be ensnared by the traps of the enemy.
We lift up those who may not yet know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12 WEB). If any reading this do not have a personal relationship with Christ, we urge them to turn from sin and trust in Him alone for salvation. For those who claim His name, we pray for boldness to walk in integrity, love, and forgiveness, even toward those who seek to harm them.
Lord, let Your kingdom come and Your will be done in our nation and beyond. Break the chains of division, suspicion, and malice. Raise up godly leaders, just systems, and communities that reflect Your heart. We trust in Your justice and mercy, knowing that vengeance belongs to You alone (Romans 12:19 WEB).
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
