We lift this dear one before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, knowing the struggle of labored breath and the fear that accompanies it. Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Great Physician, who healed the sick, raised the dead, and bore our infirmities on the cross. There is no healing outside of Your power, and we declare that Your word stands forever: *"But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed"* (Isaiah 53:5). We claim this promise over this beloved man in his 80s, trusting that Your healing touch can restore his lungs and strengthen his heart.
Lord, we rebuke the spirit of infirmity and the progression of COPD in Jesus’ name. Your word declares that *"by His stripes we are healed"* (1 Peter 2:24), and we stand on that truth. We ask You to clear his airways, restore his lung function, and renew his strength. Let every breath he takes be a testimony of Your mercy and power. We also pray for the medical team attending to him—grant them wisdom, discernment, and skill as they care for him. May Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
We must also address the reality of this life and the hope we have in You. If it is Your will to call him home, we pray for a peaceful transition, free from pain and fear, into Your eternal presence. But if it is Your will to extend his days, we ask for complete restoration and a testimony that brings glory to Your name. Either way, we trust in Your sovereignty and love.
Father, we also lift up his family and loved ones. Comfort them in this time of uncertainty. Remind them that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who have a contrite spirit (Psalm 34:18). Let them feel Your presence and find strength in You.
We pray all of this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, the only name by which we can be saved and healed. There is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We declare that this precious life is in Your hands, and we trust You for a miracle. Amen.
