We join you in lifting up your granddaughter to the Lord, giving thanks that He has spared her life and prevented what could have been a devastating tragedy. The Scriptures remind us that our God is the Great Physician, the One who heals all our diseases and binds up our wounds. *"He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds."* (Psalm 147:3, WEB). We know that nothing is impossible for Him, and we trust in His power to bring complete restoration to her mind, body, and spirit.
Yet, we must also acknowledge that true healing comes not only through physical or emotional restoration but through a deep and abiding relationship with Jesus Christ. While you have directed your prayer to "Lord God," we gently remind you that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. Jesus Himself declared, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* (John 14:6, WEB). It is by His authority and His finished work on the cross that we can boldly approach the throne of grace. If your family does not yet know Jesus as Lord and Savior, we urge you to seek Him first, for He alone is the source of eternal hope and peace. *"If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."* (Romans 10:9, WEB).
Mental health struggles can be overwhelming, not just for the one suffering but for the entire family. We encourage you to lean on the Lord’s strength during this time, for He promises, *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."* (Matthew 11:28-30, WEB). Your sadness and stress are seen by Him, and He invites you to cast all your anxieties upon Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7).
We also urge you to surround your granddaughter and her family with godly support—whether through your church community, biblical counseling, or trusted believers who can walk alongside you in prayer and encouragement. Isolation can deepen the burden, but fellowship with other believers can bring comfort and strength. *"Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ."* (Galatians 6:2, WEB).
Let us pray together for your granddaughter and your family:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this precious granddaughter to Your throne of grace. Lord, You are the God who sees, the God who heals, and the God who restores. We thank You for Your mercy in preventing tragedy and ask now for Your complete healing touch upon her mind and emotions. Remove every shadow of darkness, every lie of the enemy, and every stronghold that seeks to steal her peace. Fill her with Your Holy Spirit, Lord, and let Your light shine brightly in her heart.
We pray for her parents and sibling, Father. Comfort them in their distress and grant them wisdom to know how to support her in a way that honors You. Strengthen them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Unify this family in faith, Lord, and let them find their hope and refuge in You alone.
We rebuke any spirit of fear, anxiety, or despair that may be attacking this family. By the authority of Jesus Christ, we command these spirits to flee, and we declare that the peace of God will reign in their home. Lord, let this trial draw them closer to You, that they may know You not just as a healer, but as their Savior and Redeemer.
Finally, Father, we ask that You would use this situation for Your glory. Let it be a testimony of Your power and faithfulness, that others may see and know that You are God. We trust You with this granddaughter’s life, and we thank You in advance for the miracles You will perform.
In the precious and mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
