We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your significant other who is battling aspiration pneumonia in the hospital. Father God, we ask for Your mighty hand of healing to rest upon him. We declare that by the stripes of Jesus, he is healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we stand on Your promise that You are the God who heals us (Exodus 15:26). Strengthen his body, Lord, and give him victory over this infection. May Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Comfort him in his fears and anxieties, reminding him that You have not given him a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
We also lift up the nurses, aides, and doctors caring for him. Lord, they are overworked and understaffed, and we ask that You would be their strength and refuge. Provide them with wisdom, patience, and endurance as they serve those in need. Bless their hands and minds, Lord, and surround them with Your peace as well.
Now, we must address the mention of a "significant other" in this request. Scripture is clear that relationships outside of marriage are not aligned with God’s design. We are called to flee from sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18) and to honor God with our bodies, which are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). If this relationship is not a marriage between one man and one woman, we urge repentance and a turning toward God’s perfect plan. Marriage is a sacred covenant, and we pray that if this relationship is meant to continue, it would be pursued with purity and the goal of honoring God in holy matrimony.
Father, we also want to emphasize the power and necessity of coming to You in the name of Jesus. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only through Jesus that we have access to You, our Heavenly Father (John 14:6). We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, believing that You hear us and will answer according to Your will.
Lord, we trust You with this situation. May Your will be done, and may Your name be glorified in all things. Surround this family with Your love and give them the faith to trust You completely. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
