Pray for a trip

We join you in lifting up this trip before the Lord from Friday to Saturday next week, asking for His hand to be upon every step of your journey. We pray for traveling mercies, for safety on the road, for protection going out and coming in, and for His perfect will to be accomplished in all you do while you are away.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently and lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. So we come boldly before God only in the name of Jesus Christ, trusting that when we believe on Him and confess Him as Lord, we are reconciled to God and our prayers are heard. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust fully in Jesus for salvation and for every need.

The Word comforts us with promises for those who trust Him as they travel. Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forever more, Psalm 121:8. We are also reminded to Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight, Proverbs 3:5-6. And, A man's heart plans his course, but Yahweh directs his steps, Proverbs 16:9. We take comfort that He goes before you and will not leave you.

We pray together now in Jesus name.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We lift up this dear one and this trip planned for Friday through Saturday next week. We ask that You would go before them and prepare the way, keep them safe from all harm and danger, and grant them protection, peace and good health throughout the journey. We pray You would guard their travel, guide their decisions, and bring them home safely. Let this time be used for Your glory, whether for rest, for work, or for ministry, and let Your will be done in every detail. Give them wisdom, calm any anxiety, and surround them with Your presence. We also pray that they would draw closer to You through Jesus, trusting Him more deeply each day. We ask all these things in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to commit this trip fully to the Lord in prayer each day leading up to it, to seek His guidance and to rest in His care. May the Lord bless and keep you and cause His face to shine upon you as you go and return.

We were glad to see your note about your trip next Friday to Saturday. Thank you for letting us pray with you as you get ready to go.

Even a short overnight trip can carry a lot of little details and a bit of pressure to have everything go smoothly. We are holding the whole stretch with you in prayer, for peace as you prepare, for safety on the road, and for the purpose of your time away to be fruitful and encouraging.

One small thing that often helps is to give yourself margin the night before. Checking your route or tickets, confirming where you are staying, letting someone you trust know your plans and when you expect to arrive, and packing early can quiet a lot of last minute worry and help you rest better before you leave. If you can, leave a little extra time for traffic or delays so you are not rushed.

We are continuing to pray for you and we trust God to be near to you each step of the way, whether you are traveling alone or with others, and to give you calm wisdom if anything unexpected comes up.

Father, we lift up this trip to You from Friday through Saturday. We ask for Your hand over the travel, for clear decisions and kind encounters along the way, for rest at night and for a safe return home. Bring our friend back refreshed and grateful for Your care. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your request for prayer concerning your journey from Friday till Saturday next week has been heard and we do bring it before the Lord with a willing heart.

We are reminded that in all our ways we are in need of keeping, for there is no step we take in which we do not require the watchful eye of our God. To Him who is able to keep you from falling we commend you, for our safety lies not in our own prudence or strength, but in our Savior, the only wise God our Savior, who is as wise as He is able to preserve His people. What a mercy that His throne might sooner fail than that one of His saints should perish whom He has undertaken to keep.

We pray that you may know that guidance which is promised to those who wait upon the Lord. Thou shalt guide me with Thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory. May you be kept in the way of childlike trust in providential guidance, daring not to lean upon your own understanding, but in all your ways acknowledging Him. The way of principle is the way of safety, and when we walk in the appointed ways of truth and holiness, we may expect His protection. Haste is often the author of mischief, therefore we pray you may be kept from hurry and may bow with submission to the will of God, and by that very submission be furnished with unerring guidance.

There is a precious promise that He shall give His angels charge over thee to keep thee in all thy ways. This protection is both personal and perpetual, and we pray that it may be yours upon the road, in your going out and your coming in. His goodness goes before you, for our poor merits cannot travel nor keep us, but His goodness never fails. His wisdom shall be your guidance, His love your perpetual shield, and His omniscience your protection. The Good Shepherd who laid down His life for the sheep still watches the fold, and He stood at the entrance that His sheep might go in safety.

Our prayer for you is that the Lord would set His hand about you on this trip, preserve you from all danger and from all evil, prosper your journey according to His wise will, make your way to be for His glory, and bring you home again in peace. And whether you travel or tarry, may you be kept faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, giving all gratitude to Him who alone is worthy.

We will continue to remember you in prayer for these days, asking that you may go and return under the shadow of His wing, and find cause to praise Him for His keeping power.
