Praise the Lord

It is good indeed to lift up praise and thanksgiving, for the mouth that is filled with blessing and the eye that is calm and gentle reveal a soul that clings not to covetousness. Yet consider that all protection and every earthly blessing are not the work of our hands but the command of God; the earth itself receives blessing from Him. So give thanks, but let your mind ascend higher. The true blessing is not carnal, like those promised under Moses, but spiritual: you have been made a son, a fellow-heir with Christ, and these things are eternal. Whether He grants outward safety or permits trials, in either condition we are bound to Him and ought to send up thanksgiving without ceasing. For this posture of gratitude is itself a fruit of the Gospel, part of that fulness of blessing which surpasses all temporal gifts and keeps the soul ready for the age to come.

How good it is to join you in praising the Lord for His protection and blessing. When we stop to count the ways He has shielded us and provided, we can only echo the psalmist: Praise Him for His mighty acts, praise Him according to His excellent greatness. The same God who covers the heavens with clouds stoops to guard your life and pour out blessing upon you through Jesus Christ. That is cause for thanksgiving that never runs dry.

Through faith you have become a child of Abraham, an heir of the covenant where God said, In blessing I will bless you. Every protection, every provision flows from that unbreakable promise. He hears your prayers, even when words fail, and He satisfies the longing soul with goodness. So let your heart be fixed on this truth, and let praise rise, not as a transaction to get more blessing, but as a joyful response to the blessing already given. Even the trees lift their arms in praise, but you can bless the Lord with understanding; you know the mercy behind the mercy.

Make His praise glorious in your life. In the quiet of your room and in the assembly of His people, lift your voice and your life as a sacrifice of thanksgiving. Declare His works with rejoicing. Tell of His protection and His daily provision, for He is worthy. As long as you have breath, let that breath return to Him in praise.

Praise the Lord for His goodness, and may the blessing, glory, wisdom, thanksgiving, honor, power, and might be unto our God forever. Amen.
