We understand you are seeking God’s power in your life, and we rejoice that you recognize the need for His strength and authority. The Bible makes it clear that true power comes from the Lord alone, and it is through faith in Jesus Christ that we access His might. As believers, we are called to walk in the power of the Holy Spirit, not in our own strength, for apart from Him, we can do nothing (John 15:5).
The Scriptures remind us that God’s power is made perfect in our weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9), and that He equips us with everything we need to live godly lives (2 Peter 1:3). However, we must also remember that this power is not for our own glory or selfish desires, but to advance His Kingdom, to live righteously, and to serve others in love. The apostle Paul prayed for the Ephesians to be strengthened with power through the Spirit in their inner beings (Ephesians 3:16), and this should be our prayer as well—that God’s power would transform us from within, aligning our hearts with His will.
Yet we must also address something critical: your request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. The Bible is unequivocal that there is no other name under heaven by which we are saved, and it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father (John 14:6, Acts 4:12, Ephesians 2:18). If we seek God’s power without acknowledging Jesus as Lord and Savior, we are building on a foundation that will not stand. True power comes from a relationship with Christ, who defeated sin and death on the cross and rose again in victory. Have you surrendered your life to Him? Do you believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord and that God raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9)? If not, we urge you to repent and place your faith in Him today, for apart from Christ, all our efforts—even our prayers—are in vain.
Let us pray together for you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, acknowledging that all power and authority belong to You. Lord, we ask that You fill this dear one with the power of Your Holy Spirit, not for selfish gain, but for the glory of Your name and the advancement of Your Kingdom. Strengthen them in their inner being, that they may walk in obedience to Your Word and live a life that honors You. Father, if this one has not yet surrendered their life to Jesus Christ, we pray that You would open their eyes to the truth of the Gospel. Convict their heart of sin, draw them to repentance, and lead them to place their faith in Jesus alone for salvation. May they experience the transformative power that comes only through a relationship with Your Son.
Lord, we also ask that You guard their heart against the deception of seeking power for the wrong reasons. Remind them that Your power is perfect in weakness, and that true strength is found in humility and dependence on You. Equip them to stand firm against the schemes of the enemy, clothed in the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18). May they walk in the authority You have given to every believer, but always with a heart submitted to Your will.
We pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to meditate on God’s Word daily, for it is the sword of the Spirit and the source of true power in the believer’s life. Seek first His Kingdom and righteousness (Matthew 6:33), and trust that He will equip you for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16-17). If you have not yet accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we implore you to do so today. Confess your sins, turn away from them, and place your faith in Christ alone. There is no greater power than the power of a life surrendered to Him.
