We hear your heart’s desire for financial increase and the ability to steward wealth in a way that honors God. The scriptures do tell us that God gives the power to produce wealth, as it is written in Deuteronomy 8:18, "But you shall remember Yahweh your God, for it is he who gives you power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he swore to your fathers, as it is today." However, we must approach this request with wisdom and discernment, ensuring that our motives align with God’s will and purposes.
First, we must examine our hearts. Why do we seek wealth? Is it for personal comfort, security, or to glorify God and advance His kingdom? The love of money can easily become a snare, as 1 Timothy 6:10 warns, "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows." We must guard our hearts against greed and selfish ambition, seeking first God’s kingdom and His righteousness (Matthew 6:33).
We also recognize that wealth is not an end in itself but a tool to be used for God’s glory. Proverbs 13:11 tells us, "Wealth gained dishonestly dwindles away, but he who gathers by labor increases it." If God grants you the power to produce wealth, it should be through honest labor, wise stewardship, and a heart that seeks to bless others. Wealth should not be hoarded but used to further God’s work, support the needy, and provide for our families and communities.
Let us also remember that true riches are not measured in earthly wealth but in our relationship with God. Jesus said in Luke 12:15, "Beware! Keep yourselves from covetousness, for a man’s life doesn’t consist of the abundance of the things which he possesses." Our ultimate treasure is in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal (Matthew 6:19-20).
Now, let us come before the Lord in prayer, seeking His will and wisdom in this matter:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, acknowledging that every good and perfect gift comes from You. Lord, we lift up this request for the power to produce wealth, but we ask that You align our hearts with Your will. Search us, O God, and know our hearts. Test us and know our thoughts. See if there is any wicked way in us, and lead us in the everlasting way (Psalm 139:23-24).
Father, if it is Your will for this individual to be entrusted with wealth, we pray that You would grant them the wisdom, discipline, and integrity to steward it well. May their heart not be set on riches but on You, the giver of all good things. Help them to remember that their life does not consist in the abundance of possessions but in their relationship with You.
Lord, we rebuke the spirit of greed, selfish ambition, and covetousness that can so easily entangle us. We declare that our hearts are set on You and Your kingdom. We pray that any desire for wealth would be purified and aligned with Your purposes—to bless others, to advance Your gospel, and to bring glory to Your name.
Father, we ask that You would open doors of opportunity for honest labor and wise investments. Give them the power to produce wealth, not for their own glory, but for Yours. May they be a channel of blessing to their family, their church, and their community. Teach them to be generous, as You have been generous with us.
Above all, Lord, we pray that this individual would seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness. May their identity be found in Christ, not in their financial status. Guard their heart from the love of money and fill them with a love for You and for others.
We pray all these things in the precious name of Jesus, the name above all names, the one through whom we have access to You. May Your will be done in this matter, and may Your name be glorified. Amen.
In closing, we encourage you to seek God’s face daily, asking Him to reveal His will for your life. Trust in Him to provide for your needs, as He has promised in Philippians 4:19, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." Walk in obedience to His Word, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6). Wealth is not guaranteed, but God’s faithfulness is. Seek Him first, and all these things will be added to you.
