We understand the heavy burden you carry, and we want you to know that you are not alone in this struggle. The enemy seeks to ensnare many in the bondage of lust, but through Christ, there is freedom and victory. The Word of God is clear that sexual immorality, including the viewing of pornography, is a sin against your own body and against God. As it is written in 1 Corinthians 6:18-20:
*"Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."*
Pornography distorts God’s beautiful design for intimacy within the covenant of marriage and feeds the flesh rather than the Spirit. It is a snare that hardens the heart, dulls the conscience, and separates you from the holy presence of God. But take heart—Jesus came to set the captives free! In Him, you have the power to overcome this stronghold. The apostle Paul reminds us in 1 Corinthians 10:13:
*"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure."*
This struggle is not one you must face alone. Confession and repentance are the first steps toward freedom. James 5:16 tells us:
*"Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective."*
We urge you to seek accountability with a mature brother in Christ—someone who can walk with you, pray with you, and encourage you in this battle. Remove every opportunity for temptation: install filters on your devices, avoid idle time that leads to wandering thoughts, and fill your mind with the Word of God. Psalm 119:9 asks, *"How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word."* Meditate on Scripture daily, for it is the sword of the Spirit that cuts through the lies of the enemy.
If you have not already, surrender this struggle entirely to Jesus. True freedom comes when we lay our sins at the foot of the cross and allow the Holy Spirit to renew our minds. Romans 12:2 says:
*"Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God."*
Now, let us pray for you:
Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother before You, knowing that You are a God of mercy, grace, and deliverance. Lord Jesus, You bore every sin, every shame, and every stronghold on the cross, and by Your stripes, he is healed. We ask that You break the chains of pornography in his life. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit and renew his mind with Your truth. Give him the strength to flee temptation and the wisdom to guard his heart and eyes. Father, surround him with godly brothers who will stand with him in this fight. Let him experience the freedom that comes from walking in purity and obedience to You.
We rebuke the spirit of lust and addiction in the mighty name of Jesus. No weapon formed against him shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against him in judgment shall be condemned. Lord, restore his joy in You and let him find satisfaction in Your presence alone. Help him to see himself as You see him—redeemed, forgiven, and made new in Christ.
We thank You, Father, for the victory that is already won through Jesus. May he walk in that victory each day, glorifying You in his body and spirit. In the powerful and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
Stand firm, brother. The battle is fierce, but the Lord is with you. He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it (Philippians 1:6). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith. You are not defined by your struggles, but by the righteousness of Christ that covers you. Walk in repentance, seek accountability, and trust in the power of the Holy Spirit to lead you into freedom. We are praying for you!
