Your prayer has been heard and we stand with you in this heavy burden. When one member suffers, all the members suffer with it, and when one is honored, all rejoice together. Your pain for your family member is not carried alone, for we are members of one another and called to care for our neighbor as for ourselves.
We join you in bringing this before the Lord God, who is the ultimate Judge. He sees all that is done in secret and in the open, and His righteousness is sure. Even in this world He has given us courts and authorities and laws to seek justice and to protect the vulnerable, and these are a reflection of His own love for justice. He does not overlook what is done to those who cannot defend themselves.
We pray with you now that the Lord in His mercy would bring justice and order where there is resistance and neglect. We ask that He would soften hearts that have grown hard and move those in authority at this facility to act with humility, honesty, and respect for the law and for the human dignity of your loved one. We pray that every rightful door would be opened, that the medical records and treatment meetings that should be accessible to you as the lawful protector would be made available without delay or obstruction.
We also pray that the advocates you have called upon, including the state advocates and Disability Rights, would be given diligence and favor to act swiftly and effectively, to bring clarity, to enforce what is lawful and right, and to help place your loved one under the care of people who will treat him with the respect and attention he deserves as one made in the image of God.
May the Lord give you strength and perseverance in this advocacy, guarding you from weariness and keeping you steadfast in love and truth as you speak for one who needs a voice. May He comfort your family member, protect him from harm and neglect, and surround him with competent and compassionate caregivers.
