We hear your cry for help, and we come before the throne of grace together, seeking the Lord’s mercy and wisdom for you. It seems you are struggling with your faith—perhaps feeling distant from God, overwhelmed by doubt, or even questioning whether He is real or active in your life. Let us first remind you that these struggles are not uncommon, even among the most devoted believers. The Bible tells us in James 1:6, *"But let him ask in faith, without any doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, driven by the wind and tossed."* Your honesty in expressing this struggle is a step toward healing, and we stand with you in prayer.
First, we must address the foundation of faith: Jesus Christ. There is no true faith without Him, for He is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). If you have not yet placed your trust in Him as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so now. Salvation comes only through confessing with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9). Without this, faith cannot take root. If you have already done this, we rejoice with you, but we must also ask: Are you abiding in Him daily? Are you spending time in His Word and in prayer? Faith is not a one-time event but a daily walk with Christ.
The Bible tells us in Hebrews 11:1, *"Now faith is assurance of things hoped for, proof of things not seen."* Faith is not the absence of doubt but the choice to trust God even when we cannot see the outcome. If your faith feels weak or "mouldy," as you put it, it may be because you have allowed other things to take priority over your relationship with God. Have you been feeding your spirit with the Word of God, or have you been feeding your doubts with worldly influences? Romans 10:17 says, *"So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."* If your faith is struggling, it is time to return to the Scriptures and let God’s truth renew your mind.
We also must ask: Are there areas of sin in your life that you have not surrendered to God? Sin creates a barrier between us and the Lord, and unconfessed sin can make our faith feel distant or even dead. 1 John 1:9 reminds us, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."* If there is anything in your life that does not align with God’s Word—whether it be sexual immorality, idolatry, bitterness, or unbelief—we urge you to repent and turn away from it. God is faithful to forgive and restore.
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother or sister who is struggling with their faith. Lord, we ask that You would draw near to them in this moment. You promise in Jeremiah 29:13, *"You shall seek me, and find me, when you search for me with all your heart."* Father, ignite a hunger in their heart for You. Remove any doubt, fear, or unbelief that has taken root, and replace it with a deep, abiding trust in You. Lord, if there is any unconfessed sin in their life, reveal it to them and grant them the grace to repent. Cleanse them, restore them, and renew their faith.
We pray that You would surround them with godly believers who can encourage and strengthen them. Remind them of Your faithfulness in the past and assure them of Your presence in the present. Help them to fix their eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). May they experience Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, and may their faith grow stronger each day.
We rebuke any spirit of doubt or unbelief that has been at work in their life, and we declare that their faith will not fail. We speak life and restoration over them in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
Now, dear one, we encourage you to take practical steps to strengthen your faith. Begin by setting aside time each day to read the Bible and pray. Start with the Gospel of John or the book of Psalms if you are unsure where to begin. Surround yourself with believers who can pray with you and hold you accountable. Attend a Bible-believing church where the Word of God is preached faithfully. And most importantly, surrender every area of your life to God, trusting that He is good and that His plans for you are for your welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).
Remember, faith is a journey, and even the smallest mustard seed of faith can move mountains (Matthew 17:20). Do not despise the day of small beginnings. God is with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). Keep pressing into Him, and your faith will be renewed.
