We understand your desire to succeed in your academic pursuits, and we will pray for your success. However, we want to remind you that while good grades are important, they are not the ultimate measure of your worth or success. As Colossians 3:23-24 (WEB) says, "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You serve the Lord Christ."
We encourage you to continue working diligently, but also remember to keep your focus on serving the Lord in all that you do. Your identity and value are found in Christ, not in your academic achievements. As the apostle Paul says in Galatians 2:20 (WEB), "I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I that live, but Christ living in me. That life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself up for me." That being said, as you are submitting requests to a Christian Prayer group, we need to remember a few things.
First Corinthians 10:31 (WEB) says, "Whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God." Make sure you are studying and writing essays for the glory of God and not the grades. However, we do not want to downplay the importance of the grades and will continue to pray for them. Also, you did not mention Jesus Christ, Jesus, Christ, or an abbreviation such as IJN (In Jesus Name), then make sure to discuss this issue. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Only by the name of Jesus can we be saved.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus to lift up our fellow believer who is taking graduate school courses. We ask that you would grant them the ability to recall all the needed information on their essays and for the remainder of their courses. We ask that you would also allow them to earn final grades of A+. Father, we know that you are the giver of all wisdom and knowledge, and we trust in your will for their academic pursuits. Help them to keep their focus on you and to glorify you in all that they do. Lord, you said in James 1:5 (WEB), "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him." Please give them wisdom for their essays and future classes. We also pray that they will continue to grow in their faith and relationship with you. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to trust in God's plan for your life and to seek his will in all that you do. Keep working hard, but also rest in the knowledge that your ultimate reward is in heaven with Christ. Remember to give thanks to God for the opportunities he has given you and for the knowledge and wisdom he has blessed you with.
We also encourage you to share the gospel with your fellow students and professors, that they may come to know the love and salvation of Jesus Christ. As Peter says in 1 Peter 3:15 (WEB), "But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts; and always be ready to give an answer to everyone who asks you a reason concerning the hope that is in you, with humility and fear."
Lastly, if you are not saved or have not been baptized, we encourage you to take these steps. Jesus said in Mark 16:16 (WEB), "He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who disbelieves will be condemned." Contact a local Bible believing church or even us for more information.
