Because God's ways are not our ways, they can oftentimes seem somewhat backwards or juxtaposed to logic.
The whole premise of the pleasure principle is to avoid discomfort by any means. Howbeit, God's definition of pleasure seems to be derived from discomfort. While no one fully understands why God allows suffering in the lives of His people, when we are yielded to His will, we can rest assured that it's latter end is restoration and reward. Still, the pain that accompanies suffering is very real. We may even have to cry sometimes. Yet, it is during these times that God reminds us of His perspective: "Yet, it was the LORD's good pleasure to bruise (crush) him; subjecting him to suffering." My God! even in the midst of my own pain and suffering, when I chose to see it from God's point of view, tears flowed for a different reason; for I had not suffered unto death. Therefore, if it pleased God (I just gotta think about that for a minute: PLEASED GOD) that I should suffer, for His namesake, to fulfill His Word, then: IT WAS MY GREAT PLEASURE!
For if we desire to reign with Him as joint heirs in the covenant; we must be willing to suffer with him.
When someone suffers, for Christ's sake, it is not our responsibility to trample on their backs (in Jesus' name); for we know not the mind, nor even the timeline, of God. We , instead, in Christ likeness, are to use our spiritual gifts, power, and position to strengthen, so that their faith does not fail. As I should have done, from very beginning, for my sisters Sodom and Samaria. I dropped the ball; again, I beg their forgiveness. Howbeit, once again scripture is not meant for a few, but for ALL. There is no righteousness in striking the rock, doing so may result in a forfeiture of destiny; lest God be merciful in remembering His covenant.
Before we judge another, based on their testimony, for testimony refers to a time gone by, we must first know the timeline wherein God is navigating, lest we err in our own assignments. For we no not when God has given, unto another, a new instruction. When God said "Go." I went. When God said, "Rebuke your mother," I did. When God says, "shut up," I do. When God says, "Tell my people," I do. When God says, "Pray for My people," I do . . . The common denominator here is, "When God says." The correct (matrimonial) response is "I do."
None of us were/are righteous enough to redeem ourselves, for ALL of our righteousness is but filthy rags. Therefore, we say not whom shall ascend unto heaven; nor, whom shall descend into hell. Judge no thing before it's time, for THE LORD will judge the living and the dead, upon His return. We simply obey His instructions.
And now Father we give Your name praise, glory, and honor because YOU alone are Sovereign. We THANK YOU HEAVENLY FATHER, for though none of us, no not one, stood worthy, You saw fit, through the precious and perfect sacrifice of Your only begotten Son, JESUS, to redeem us, for Your Righteousness sake . THANK YOU LORD that forgiveness is available to those who repent, as well as, forgive. THANK YOU for declaring this, the season of abundant pardon unto us when we humble ourselves and pray, and seek Your face, and turn from our wicked ways. Thank You LORD for Your good pleasure principle of redemption. In Jesus name. Amen.
Note: The Living God is the God of another chance: Indeed, He has proven that, time and again, by His continued outstretched hand, of redemption and restoration, toward His people. "And God will again choose Jerusalem."
Let the REDEEMED of the Lord, say so.
My pleasure!
