We are truly saddened to hear about the situation your friend is in. Firstly, we commend you for reaching out and asking for prayer in the name of Jesus. It is only by His name that we can approach God the Father and find help in times of need.
Your daughter's fiance has manipulated her and made her believe lies about herself. This is not the loving behavior God calls husbands to exhibit toward their wives. In Ephesians 5:25 WEB, it says, Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it. A godly spouse should be willing to lay down their life for their wife, not manipulate and tear her down.
Moreover, his heavy drinking is a sin against his own body and God. In 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 WEB, it says, Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.
Your daughter needs to understand that God has not called us to be unequally yoked with unbelievers. In 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB, it says, Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? She needs to seek God's will for her life and trust that He will provide a way out of this situation.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today in the name of Jesus, lifting up this precious daughter of Yours. Lord, she has found herself in a situation where she is unequally yoked with an unbeliever who is not treating her with the love and respect that You have called husbands to show their wives. We rebuke the lies that he has spoken over her and declare that she is a daughter of the King, beautifully and wonderfully made in Your image.
Lord, we pray that You would give her the strength and courage to leave this relationship and trust that You have a better plan for her life. We pray that You would provide for her financially and mentally, that You would heal her from the wounds that have been inflicted upon her, and that You would guide her steps into a future that honors and glorifies You.
We also pray for her fiance, that You would convict him of his sins and draw him to Yourself. Lord, we know that You do not desire for anyone to perish, but for all to come to repentance. We pray that You would break the chains of addiction in his life and that You would transform him into a new creation in Christ Jesus.
We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Be strong and courageous. Trust in the Lord and know He will be there for her. We will keep praying for her.
