Thank you so much to everyone who has faithfully upheld our family in prayer over this long season. After our mother suffered a stroke in January, she was then diagnosed with stage IV nasopharyngeal cancer in mid-November. On November 21, she suddenly fell into a coma and was rushed to the emergency room, but by God’s grace she miraculously regained consciousness. This Monday, she was even able to return to our hometown, where our uncle, who is a doctor and has cared for our mother for many years, is located. Our mother was overjoyed to see her younger sister again. My older sister is hoping to plan another short trip to take our mother to see the sea, so her heart can feel more open and at ease, instead of her days being filled only with hospitals, her sickbed, and medications. However, the place our mother has always longed to visit requires about a 3.5-hour drive, which does worry me. My sister suggested staying at a local church there, but my older brother immediately declined, as he has not yet come to faith. God once healed his tumor, and he even went to church to thank the pastor who visited him during his illness. I struggle to understand why he has still not come to believe. I suspect it may be related to traditional beliefs—he thinks that as the eldest son in the family, he must uphold those traditions. At last Wednesday’s follow-up appointment, a two-centimeter lump was found on the left side of our mother’s neck, and we are deeply concerned that it may be cancer metastasis. Her left eye has also begun to have discharge, and in recent days there has been thick yellow nasal mucus from her left nostril. Please earnestly ask our loving Jesus to continue to heal our mother with His supernatural power. May He grant her the desire of her heart—to see the sea at the place she has long dreamed of visiting. Please also pray that the Lord would swiftly call and choose my older brother, that he may be baptized, so our mother can have peace knowing that her son who has been unemployed for a long time and suffers from colorectal cancer and depression is under God’s care. Please also ask the Lord to anoint and strengthen my older sister who is caring for our mother, and to send the right angels and helpers to share her burden. Our deepest gratitude to all who have so faithfully upheld our family in prayer. We are truly humbled by your support. May the Lord bless you and keep you.
