Let us first acknowledge that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23 WEB) It is good that ### has come seeking prayer, recognizing that there is a battle going on in the mind. We all have experienced bad thoughts, but it is important to remember that having a thought is not the same as acting on it. Temptation is not sin, but dwelling on tempting thoughts can lead to sin.
The Bible tells us to take every thought captive to obey Christ. (2 Corinthians 10:5 WEB)
Let us pray.
Almighty God, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ lifting up ###, ###, and ###. Lord, ### is battling with bad thoughts and feels condemned. We pray that You will minister to him and remind him that there is no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. (Romans 8:1 WEB) Help him to take every thought captive to obey You. Give him the power through the Holy Spirit to dwell on what is true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, and admirable. (Philippians 4:8 WEB)
Remind him that victory is possible. No temptation has taken him except what is common to us all. You are faithful, who will not allow him to be tempted above what he is able to bear, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that he may be able to endure it. (1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB)
We pray for his marriage to ###, that You will bless it and strengthen it. May they both be lights that shine for You, teaching ### Your ways. We pray for their family, that it will be a beacon of love, grace, and hope in a dark world.
In Jesus name we pray.
###, remember that it is only by the name of Jesus that we can approach God. There is no other name under heaven given among us by which we must be saved. (Acts 4:12 WEB)
Stand firm against the wiles of the enemy. Resist him, firm in your faith. (1 Peter 5:9 WEB) Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, (Romans 12:2 WEB) Trust in God's promises. God has given us very great and precious promises, that through these ### may become a partaker of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world by lust. (2 Peter 1:4 WEB)
