REPENTING OF UNFORGIVENESS
Dear Heavenly Father, I, ___________________________________ confess that I have harbored unforgiveness in my heart towards certain individuals that have sinned against me and I have not responded to these offenses as you have instructed us to do in your word. Forgive me of any hatred I have allowed to dwell in my heart towards anyone because of their offenses. Forgive me of all the times that I retaliated against offenders. Forgive me for the times I have avenged myself of wrongs that were done to me. Forgive me for holding grudges. Forgive me for resisting evil or rendering evil for evil and any harm or injury I may have inflicted on another person as a result of such unworthy actions or words. Forgive me of all malicious words, evil speaking, backbiting, spreading harmful gossip or rumors, reviling actions, insults, threats, slander, blame, curses, criticism, verbal abuse, false accusations, and disrespectful actions spoken about someone in an effort to get even or tear down. Forgive me of all the arguing, fighting and quarrelling because of unforgiveness. Forgive me of any lying, cheating, deception or dishonesty on my part to get even or hurt someone I did not forgive. Forgive me of all unjust actions, emotions, attitudes or words as a result of unforgiveness towards anyone who may have offended me.
Cleanse me of this iniquity. Create in me, O God, a heart that is full of love and forgiveness. Bind me to abide by all your precepts and teachings concerning love and forgiveness. I choose to love others as myself and abide by the commandments you have given to us. Help me to make restitution where needed and to make reconciliation to all that I have offended and to fully forgive all who have offended or hurt me in any way. I choose to renounce, release and abandon all my former behavior, wrong attitudes, disrespect, bitterness, hatred and unforgiveness towards those who have done me wrong. I release and surrender to the Lord Jesus Christ any strongholds that the enemy has erected in my life as a result of my unforgiveness toward others. I ask the Lord to pull down, dismantle and destroy these strongholds, and all wrong patterns of thinking, and remove and deliver me from the demonic spirits that my use them. I surrender my life to the Lordship of Christ. I submit my will to the will of God and I submit my mind to the mind of Christ and allow my mind to be renewed by the word of God. I choose to be at peace with all men and allow the peace of God to rule in my heart and mind. All this I ask in the precious name of the Lord Jesus Christ, amen.
