MSC Prayers

Humble Servant of All
Please pray for me and yourselves, and all of our family members, loved ones, friends, colleagues, associates, acquaintances, friends, and enemies. Please pray for all of the public servants and all of their family members, loved ones, friends, colleagues, associates, acquaintances, friends, and enemies too. May God's Will Be Done. In Jesus Name. Amen.

We join you in this wide and loving intercession and we thank God for the burden He has placed on your heart to pray not only for yourself and those closest to you but also for the wider circle of colleagues, associates, acquaintances and even for enemies, and for public servants and all those connected to them. This reflects the heart of Christ who calls us to a love that reaches beyond our own household.

We are reminded of what is written in 1 Timothy 2:1-2 where we are exhorted that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in high places, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence. And in Matthew 5:44 we hear the words of Jesus, But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. To pray for enemies and for those in authority over us is obedience and it is also a witness to the mercy we ourselves have received.

Your prayer that God's will be done is the very prayer Jesus taught us to pray, Let your Kingdom come. Let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Matthew 6:10. We cling to the promise in Romans 8:28 that we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose, trusting that His will is good and perfect even when we do not fully understand it.

We pray together with you now.

Father in heaven, we come before Your throne in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, for there is no other name by which we approach You and are saved. We lift up this dear one who has asked for prayer, and we lift up ourselves, our families, loved ones, friends, colleagues, associates and acquaintances. We lift up our enemies and those who have opposed us, asking that You would bless them, draw them to repentance and to the knowledge of Your truth, and soften hearts on both sides. We ask You to forgive us where we have harbored bitterness and to teach us to bless those who persecute us as You command in Romans 12:14.

We also lift up all public servants, those who serve in government, in law enforcement, in the military, as first responders, teachers, and in every office of public trust, and we lift up their families, loved ones and all who are near to them. Give them wisdom, integrity, courage and a heart to seek justice and mercy. Protect them and their households, guard them from evil, and lead them to walk in Your ways. We pray for our nation and our communities, that through their service we may live peaceful and godly lives and that Your name would be honored.

Above all we surrender all of these lives and all of these needs to Your sovereign will. Let Your will be done in each of us as it is in heaven. Shape us, correct us, heal us and use us for Your glory. Draw each person we have prayed for into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ and deepen the faith of those who already know You. We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus. Amen.

We encourage you to continue in this faithful pattern of broad intercession, for God delights in such prayers. Keep bringing every person and every need before Him daily, trusting that He hears and that His will shall prevail.

Thank you for lifting such a wide circle to the Lord. We hear your heart in this prayer, wanting not just your own needs but the needs of families, friends, colleagues, even enemies and those who serve the public to be brought before God and surrendered to His will. That generosity matters.

We are joining you in that prayer. We ask God to show His mercy and guidance over each of those groups you named, and to work out His good will in their lives in the way only He can.

Carrying so many people in prayer at once can feel heavy, and we want to encourage you that God hears even a simple, broad prayer like the one you prayed. If it helps you keep going without feeling overwhelmed, some find it helpful to hold one part of that circle each day, perhaps family one day, neighbors and coworkers another, public servants another, and those who have been difficult to love on another, trusting God remembers them all even when we name them generally.

We are grateful you included us as well. We need prayer too and we do not take that lightly.

Father, we bring before You this brother or sister and every person they have named, loved ones and strangers, friends and those who feel like enemies, and all who serve our communities. Draw each one toward Your will and Your care, give wisdom where it is needed and peace where there is turmoil. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen.

Your call to intercession has been heard and we join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace. It is a holy and loving work to pray for others, and when the soul expands itself in such prayer for brethren and for those yet afar off, the Lord delights to show His mercy.

We take up your burden and pray as the apostle exhorted, for all classes and conditions of men. We pray for you and for ourselves, for all our family members and loved ones, for friends and colleagues, for associates and acquaintances, and even for our enemies. We pray likewise for all public servants and for their households and all who are connected to them. We ask not according to our own wisdom but that God's will be done, for we hold the comfortable conviction that He ruleth and overruleth in all things and maketh all things to work together for good to them that love Him.

We pray that each soul for whom we intercede may be brought to know that he is a poor sinner and nothing at all, and that Jesus Christ may be his all in all. For intercessory prayer will not avail any man without his personal repentance and faith, yet it may please God to use our prayers as the means to bring him to repentance and to lead him to call upon the Lord. Prayer is the most essential thing in turning sinners from the error of their ways, and to learn to pray for others is to enter the college of all prayer, where we are fitted to become God's instruments in winning souls.

Therefore we will not leave off praying, but will persevere with hope, believing that He who has promised, I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy, and I will say to them which were not my people, Thou art my people, is able still to call many who are now far off to say, Thou art my God.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, we bow before Thee in the name of Jesus Christ, Thy Son, our only hope of salvation. Forgive our sins and cover us in His righteousness. Have mercy upon all for whom we pray, upon our families and friends, upon strangers and upon enemies, upon those who govern and serve in public office and upon their loved ones. Work in each heart by Thy Spirit to change the will and make men willing in the day of Thy power, that they may repent and believe the gospel. Keep Thy people in this world for Thy glory, and make heaven sweeter by our faithful service here. Let Thy will be done in us and through us, as Thou hast purposed from eternity. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus, who ever liveth to make intercession for us. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We have heard your request and we give thanks for a heart that seeks prayer so broadly, not only for yourself but for many others, and that submits all to the will of God.

We join with you and pray before our merciful Father in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone is salvation, that His will be done in your life and in the lives of all you have named. We ask Him to show His grace and mercy to you, to your family members, loved ones, friends, colleagues, associates and acquaintances, and indeed to your enemies also. For we are taught to love all people, to pity those who oppose us and to pray for them, that they may be turned to the truth and find forgiveness.

We also bring before Him the public servants and their families, loved ones, friends and colleagues, asking that God would grant them wisdom, restraint and a desire to do what is just and right, and that He would lead them and their households to know Him.

We pray in this way knowing that we always stand in need of prayer. Even Paul sought the prayers of the Church and Peter was upheld when the Church prayed earnestly for him. Prayer is a great weapon and an unshaken tower, and it avails much when joined with a faithful life. So we do not trust in ourselves, but we ask for His grace for you and for ourselves, that we may both pray and walk faithfully, and be kept in His mercy.

May the Lord hear and answer according to His perfect will, grant you peace, strengthen you to do what pleases Him, and keep you and all those you love in the care of His Son. Amen.

Your prayer for such a wide circle of people is beautiful and right, and we join you in it. To ask that God's will be done is the heart of all true prayer, that His kingdom would come and His will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Prayer at its deepest is not trying to persuade God to do something He does not want to do. It is consenting to what He already desires to do. He has given each person the capacity of choice and He will not violate that choice or work against a person's will, yet He longs to show mercy, to save, and to bless. When we pray we open the door for Him to do those good things He has purposed, and salvation itself remains His work from beginning to end.

That is why intercessory prayer is so precious. It reaches beyond our own needs and brings others before the Lord, family and loved ones, friends and colleagues, acquaintances and even enemies, and those who serve the public and their households as well. More is accomplished through such praying than we will ever see in this life. It is quiet power behind the scenes, and it begins with God Himself putting the burden to pray in our hearts.

As you pray for enemies as well as friends, remember how Scripture calls us to pray. It is natural to ask for mercy and grace for ourselves while wanting judgment for those who oppose us, but Jesus teaches us to walk in a different kind of love. There are different kinds of love, and the love He pours into His people is not merely affection or friendship, but a giving, sacrificial love, the love with which God loved us while we were still sinners and sent His Son to be the atonement for our sins. On the cross He demonstrated His love once for all, laying down His life for His friends. Because we have been so loved and forgiven, we are called to love and forgive in return. Jesus emphasized that if we do not forgive others, we close our own hearts to the Father's forgiveness.

So continue to lift up all those names before the Lord with a heart of worship and thanksgiving for who He is, for His goodness and mercy, and with a heart of love that seeks their good. Ask that each one would come to know the love of God in Christ, that they would be drawn to Him, and that they would walk in His ways according to His Word, which is a true guide for life. Cast every burden on Him, trusting that God is for those who trust Him and that He will sustain and deliver. He is faithful to work in every situation, even using trials to reveal His grace more deeply as we learn to trust Him.

We pray with you that the Lord would have mercy on you and on all those you have named, that He would draw each one to salvation through Jesus Christ alone, that He would guard marriages and homes in His design, that He would grant wisdom and protection to those in public service, and that His perfect will would be accomplished in every life. May you experience His peace as you rest in His love and continue to walk in love toward others as Christ has loved you.
