Angel Eyes

Servant of All
Father God, I stopped praying and believing for the longest time because nothing positive has happened. I have had so much hate in my heart. Family members are awful to each other yet they walk around pretending they love one another, I wish I could make some new friends, buy a house, lose weight, get out of debt, monetize on social media, etc. I’ve prayed but nothing good ever happens to me. Please God what exactly am I doing wrong?

We hear the pain and frustration in your heart, and we want you to know that we are standing with you in prayer, seeking God’s will and His perfect timing for your life. It is not uncommon to feel weary when prayers seem unanswered, but we must remember that God’s ways are higher than our ways, and His timing is perfect, even when we cannot see it. The Bible tells us in Isaiah 55:8-9, *"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, and your ways are not my ways,” says Yahweh. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts."*

First, we must address the condition of your heart. You mentioned harboring hate toward family members who pretend to love one another. While their behavior is hurtful and hypocritical, we are called to forgive, even when it is difficult. Jesus teaches us in Matthew 6:14-15, *"For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."* Unforgiveness and bitterness can hinder your prayers and your relationship with God. We pray that you would release this burden to Him and ask for the strength to forgive, not for their sake, but for your own peace and healing.

You also expressed a desire for new friends, a home, financial freedom, and other blessings. These are not wrong desires, but we must examine our motives and ensure that we are seeking God’s will above all else. James 4:3 warns us, *"You ask, and don’t receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures."* Are you seeking these things for God’s glory, or are they becoming idols in your life? We encourage you to surrender these desires to Him and trust that He knows what is best for you. Psalm 37:4-5 reminds us, *"Also delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this."*

We also want to gently address the mention of monetizing social media. While there is nothing inherently wrong with using your talents or platforms for income, we must be cautious not to prioritize worldly success over godly obedience. Jesus warns us in Matthew 6:24, *"No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other; or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You can’t serve both God and Mammon."* If your focus is on building a following or making money rather than glorifying God, it may be time to realign your priorities. Seek first His kingdom, and all these things will be added to you (Matthew 6:33).

You asked, *"What exactly am I doing wrong?"* While we cannot see your heart fully, we can point to a few areas where God may be calling you to grow. First, your prayer did not mention the name of Jesus, and it is critical to remember that we have access to the Father only through Him. Jesus said in John 14:6, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* If you have not placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so. Salvation is found in no one else, and it is the foundation of a relationship with God. Romans 10:9 says, *"that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."*

Second, we must consider whether you are walking in obedience to God’s Word. Are you spending time in prayer and reading the Bible consistently? Are you actively seeking godly community and accountability? The Bible tells us in James 4:8, *"Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded."* Sometimes, unanswered prayers can be a result of unconfessed sin or disobedience. We encourage you to examine your heart and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any areas that need repentance.

Lastly, we want to remind you that God is not a genie who grants wishes on demand. He is a loving Father who desires what is best for His children, even when it doesn’t look the way we expect. Hebrews 11:6 tells us, *"Without faith, it is impossible to be well pleasing to him, for he who comes to God must believe that he exists, and that he is a rewarder of those who seek him."* Are you trusting God even when you don’t see immediate results? Faith is not the absence of doubt, but the decision to trust God despite it.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our dear brother/sister who is feeling weary and discouraged. Lord, we ask that You would meet them in their pain and frustration. We pray that You would soften their heart to forgive those who have hurt them, just as You have forgiven us. Remove any bitterness, hate, or resentment, and replace it with Your peace and love.

Father, we ask that You would realign their desires with Your will. Help them to seek You above all else and to trust in Your perfect timing. Lord, we pray for provision in every area of their life—financially, emotionally, and spiritually. Provide godly friendships, a home that glorifies You, and the discipline to care for their body as Your temple. We ask that You would open doors for them that no man can shut, and close doors that are not of You.

Lord, we also pray for their spiritual walk. If there is any unconfessed sin or disobedience, reveal it to them and give them the strength to repent. Draw them closer to You, and help them to abide in Your Word and in prayer. Remind them that You are a good Father who loves them deeply, even when they cannot see the bigger picture.

We declare that their faith will not fail, and that they will see Your faithfulness in their life. Strengthen their trust in You, and help them to wait patiently for Your promises. We thank You for hearing our prayer, and we trust that You are working all things together for their good, because they love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28).

In Jesus’ precious and holy name we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to press into God, even when it feels difficult. Spend time in His Word, surround yourself with believers who can encourage you, and continue to bring your requests before Him. Remember, He is not distant or indifferent—He is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). Keep seeking Him, and He will not disappoint you.

We're here with you, friend, praying alongside you. We understand the feeling of weariness and frustration when prayers seem unanswered. But remember, God's ways are higher than ours, and His timing is perfect, even when we can't see it.

We want to encourage you to keep your heart pure. Forgiving those who have hurt you, like your family members, can be tough, but it's crucial for your own peace and healing. Jesus teaches us in Matthew 6:14-15 that if we forgive others, our heavenly Father will also forgive us. So, let's ask God to help you release that burden and forgive, not for their sake, but for yours.

You've also shared some desires you have - for new friends, a home, financial freedom, and more. These aren't wrong, but let's make sure our motives are pure and that we're seeking God's will above all else. James 4:3 warns us about asking with wrong motives. So, let's surrender these desires to God and trust that He knows what's best for you. As Psalm 37:4-5 reminds us, "Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust also in him, and he will do this."
