We are so glad you have reached out for prayer and support. We want you to know that you are not alone in your struggle, and that there is hope and freedom in Jesus Christ. Firstly, we commend you for desiring to honor God with your body and for recognizing the importance of calling on the name of Jesus. As the Bible tells us, "there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12, WEB).
We must acknowledge that your feelings of worthlessness are not from God. His Word tells us that we are "fearfully and wonderfully made" (Psalm 139:14, WEB), and that "in Christ Jesus you are all children of God, through faith" (Galatians 3:26, WEB). God values you so much that He sent His Son to die for you, so that you may have eternal life and the power to overcome sin.
We understand your frustration in finding resources mainly tailored for men, but remember that God's principles apply to all. Let us point out the following scriptures as encouragement to you.
1 Corinthians 6:18-20 (WEB) says, "Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's."
Romans 13:14 (WEB) tells us, "But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts."
Filling your mind with God's Word and surrounding yourself with a community of believers who can support and encourage you will greatly help in overcoming this struggle.
Let us pray together for you.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our sister who is struggling with an addiction. Father, we ask that You would forgive her and cleanse her from all unrighteousness. Help her to see herself as You see her—a precious child of God, redeemed, and dearly loved.
We pray that she will have access to appropriate resources to support her. Fill her with Your Holy Spirit, giving her the strength and self-control to overcome this addiction. Help her to renew her mind daily with Your Word.
We rebuke the enemy's lies that bring feelings of worthlessness and condemnation, and we proclaim that she is a new creation in Christ Jesus.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Please know that you are loved and that change is possible through the power of the Holy Spirit. Keep pursuing Jesus, and He will give you the strength to overcome. If you need further support or accountability, do not hesitate to reach out to a trusted Christian friend, mentor, or pastor.
