We understand that you are feeling anxious about the future, and we want to encourage you to trust in God. Jesus said in the Sermon on the Mount, Sufficient for the day is its own evil. Matthew 6:34 WEB. This verse reminds us that we should focus on today and trust God with tomorrow.
Anxiety can prevent us from living in the present. But Jesus calls us to seek God's kingdom first and foremost, trusting that He will provide for our needs. As it says in the surrounding verses,
But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore don't be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day's own evil is sufficient. Matthew 6:33-34 WEB
Let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We lift up this dear one to You, asking that You will take away their anxiety about the future. We ask that you will give them the grace to trust in You and to seek first Your kingdom and righteousness. We pray for their faith to be strengthened, knowing that You hold their future in Your hands. Help them to focus on today, living for You and serving You.
Lord, we also notice that the request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to remind the requester that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. As it is written,
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 1 Timothy 2:5 WEB.
And in Acts 4:12 WEB,
There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, through which we must be saved!
Please strengthen them to call on the name of Jesus Christ and to live by faith in Him.
We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
