We join you in fervent prayer, seeking God's intervention in this challenging situation. Firstly, we acknowledge your heartache and commend you for bringing this burden to the Lord in Jesus' name. Remember, it is only by name of Jesus that God can be reached according to John 14:6 that states I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. Jesus also reminds us in John 10:10, The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly.
We stand with you in prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, seeking Your divine intervention in ###'s life and in the life of the one you are interceding for. Lord, You are the only one who can bring a permanent resolution to this drinking problem. We ask that You break the chains of addiction and bring healing and restoration.
We also pray for you, that God would restore your joy and strength. We know that trying to fix this yourself is too much to bear. We pray that your husband turns to God because this is the only permanent solution. We know that God will never leave you or forsake you, even in this difficult time we pray that you turn to God and not from Him. We know you are hurting, but we pray that you do not lose hope. Remember that nothing is impossible with God, and He can turn even the most dire situations around for His glory. Trust and rely on Him completely.
We also ask this prayer request be aligned with your will for both of your lives. We remember the words of James 5:16, The effective, earnest prayer of a righteous man is powerfully effective, and of James 4:3, You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures, and of 1 John 3:22, Whatever we ask, we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do the things that are pleasing in his sight.
Lord, we ask that You work in both of your hearts, drawing you closer to Him and to each other. We pray that this trial would ultimately strengthen your marriage and deepen your faith in God. Father God, may your love and joy be restored to both of your lives. We pray to remember the words of Ephesians 4:32, Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you.
We ask all of this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
