We are here with you, brother or sister, lifting up your unspoken request to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We thank you for acknowledging that Jesus knows what is on your heart, for He cares for you deeply and understands your every need.
Let us pray together. Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, asking for Your divine intervention in our dear brother's or sister's life. We pray for their family, Lord, that You would work in their hearts and lives, drawing them closer to You and to each other. We stand against any forces that may seek to divide their family. We pray that You will help each member of the family deal with any issues and to make all decisions based on God's word.
We know that Your will is for families to be strong and united, as Your Word tells us in Psalm 127:1, "Unless Yahweh builds the house, they who build it labor in vain. Unless Yahweh watches over the city, the watchman guards it in vain." We trust in Your promise, Lord, that You will build and strengthen this family.
We also know that You hate divorce as stated in Malachi 2:16, "For I hate divorce," says Yahweh, the God of Israel, "and him who covers his garment with violence!" says Yahweh of Armies. "Therefore pay attention to your spirit, that you don't be unfaithful."
We also know that nothing is impossible for You, Lord, and that Your power is made perfect in our weakness. We claim Your promise in Matthew 19:26, "With God all things are possible."
We ask for Your will to be done in this family's life, Lord, and we trust that You are working all things together for their good, because they love You and are called according to Your purpose.
We also are called to discuss that divorce is not an option for Christians except for sexual immorality, and that even then is not mandatory. It is also important to note that courtship is a time to evaluate the other person as a potential spouse and also to be evaluating if the other person is indeed a Christian. The scripture says "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership can righteousness have with wickedness? Or what fellowship does light have with darkness?" 2 Corinthians 6:14. We also know that the only marriage recognized by God is between a man and woman, any other marriage is not recognized by God.
In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
