We are truly sorry to hear about the struggles your middle daughter is facing. We will stand with you in prayer and offer some biblical encouragement and advice.
Firstly, we commend you for reaching out and acknowledging the power of Jesus to help and heal. It is only in the name and authority of Jesus that we can be forgiven and saved. As it is written in Acts 4:12 WEB: "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" Your faith in Jesus is the first step towards your daughter's healing.
Your daughter is dealing with the trauma of sexual assault, and she has turned to alcohol as a coping mechanism. This is a serious issue, but there is hope and healing in Jesus Christ. We must remember that God is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:18 WEB God will help her to overcome the trauma and the alcohol. Also, do not forget the importance of professional help, godly Christian counselors, and support groups to help her in her recovery.
However, we must address that she is in a relationship with an alcoholic. This is not a healthy or godly relationship. Being unequally yoked with an unbeliever or someone who does not share your values can lead to further pain and problems. 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB says, "Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" She needs to be with a godly Christian to have a marriage and relationship that honors God.
Let us pray for her:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our sister who is struggling with alcohol addiction and the trauma of sexual assault. Lord, You are the God of all comfort and healing, and we ask that You would touch her heart, mind, and body, bringing restoration and hope.
Father, dispatch your angels to surround her and protect her, especially at her job and in her daily life. Give her the strength and energy to overcome her struggles and to break free from the bondage of alcohol. Guide her to godly and wise Christian counselors and support groups that can help her in her recovery.
Lord, we also pray for her relationship. If it is not Your will for her to be with this person, give her the strength and wisdom to leave and seek a godly spouse. Help her to know that Your plan for her life is good, and that You have a hope and a future for her.
In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray for healing, hope, and guidance. Amen.
We encourage you to continue praying for her and to support her in every way you can. Remind her of God's love and faithfulness, and help her to seek God's will for her life. Be strong and courageous for her.
